American...had it even in rounds, Hopkins by one point because of the knockdown. But A Calzaghe win wasn't a robbery. Close one.

don't lie to yourself. hopkins won that fight easy and im american. those stats were false and they didn't even count half of hopkins clean lands but they counted calzaghes punches if they landed on hopkins elbows. if you don't believe me, just rewatch round 3 and then look at the compubox numbers for the round.

dont think a prime hopkins would beat a prime calzaghe

calzaghe, was quicker, stronger and had much better movement during his prime. he was shot when he fought hopkins

i had calzaghe winning by 1 point

Also they are counting lots of Calzaghe "punches" that land with the inside of the glove.

Prime for prime this fight would not be competitive at all.

You forget that Calzaghe was also several years past HIS prime when they fought.

In any case, Hopkins had the chance to fight JC earlier in their careers but didn't

Not at all. A great many number of Brits believe Hopkins won, and a great many number of Americans feel Calzaghe won.

In the words of Manny Stewart (American):

"This wasn't a hard fight to score."

Hopkins won between 1 and 4 rounds, depending on your generosity.

Calzaghe won between 8 and 11.

    Judges scores (All Americans):

    9:3
    8:4
    6:6 (Blind lady)

emanual stewart is an idiot. he also said calzaghe was"mentally intimidating bernard hopkins". now just think about that statement and then think of how legitimate stewart is. and also, he said the rounds were tough to score during the fight. HBO commentators have no legitimacy

American-had Joe winning. It was a terrible fight, thanks to Bernard. But that's the smartest way Bernard thought he could fight. I actually think he could've roughed Joe up seriously if he had tried to push action instead of drag the activity level down. Call me crazy, I just think he could have shocked the world instead of playing games. But, no, I think JC won it. It was probably his best win, I don't care about the age of Hopkins or the dreaded way the fight went over.

Are we talking about the same Manny ?

The one who trained Tommy Hearns ?

    And Lennox Lewis ?

And at one time or another, trained a few other champions.

    Wilfredo Benitez
    Oscar de la Hoya
    Evander Holyfield
    Julio César Chávez
    Wladimir Klitschko
    Michael Moorer
    Mike McCallum
    Jermain Taylor
    Oliver McCall
    James Toney
    Kermit Cintron
    Milton McCrory
    Dennis Andries
    Gerald McClellan
    Naseem Hamed

Seems some serious boxing champions didn't think he was an idiot.

But what do they know, compared to you ?

About damn time someone said this.

I guess the fight has to have a winner but neither fighter deserved to win that fight, Calzaghe didn't land one significant punch in the fight and Hopkins constant hugging, complaining, low blow faking, didn't win me over either.

If I was forced to choose who I thought won more rounds it would probably be Calzaghe but that's only due to workrate and not clean effective punching.
