    Lets compare Calzaghe and Hopkins by swapping their resumes, Calzaghe is 46-0-0 and Hopkins is 50-5-1 these records are their records they are set in stone, now lets give Calzaghe, Hopkins opponents :- obviously Calzaghe beats Clinton Mitchell and I say he would have beaten Jermain Taylor twice and Mercado twice, since Calzaghe could not have fought himself if he had faced Hopkins opposition he would have had a record of 54 wins and 1 defeat {Roy Jones}, if Hopkins had faced Calzaghes opponents he would have beaten them all except a prime Kessler. Bika and Lacy would have given Hopkins trouble in 2006 ,Hopkins had lost twice to Jermain Taylor in 2005, but all the same I will credit Bernard with the wins, so considering that Hopkins could not fight himself if he had fought Calzaghes opposition ,Hopkins would have ended up with a record of 44 wins and 1 defeats.

    Giving a grand total off :-
    Calzaghe fought 101 won 100 lost 1 {a young Roy Jones}
    Hopkins fought 101 won 94 lost 6 {Roy Jones, Taylor x 2, Clinton Mitchell, Calzaghe, Kessler} and 1 draw {Mercado}

    No question Calzaghe would have done much better than Hopkins if their resumes had been swapped.

    Dont just take my word for it, do your own predictions, who comes out best ?

    I rank Calzaghe above Hopkins, Calzaghe beat Hopkins fair and square in the ring {in Hopkins own backyard it has to be said, home advantage is big in boxing like most sports}, Although both boxers were old, they were both 90% prime, as was verified by Hopkins total schooling of middleweight king Kelly Pavlik and Calzaghe's schooling of boxing legend Roy Jones Jnr in their next fights.
    Calzaghe won a close fair decision {116-111, 115-112 with only the notorious Adalaide Byrd who has a reputation for voting for her own ethnic type giving it to the home boxer 113-114}.

    The bottom line is I think Calzaghe beats Hopkins at any stage of their careers .

    So this is dependent on Calzaghe being able to compete at 160 for Gods knows how many fights?!?!?

    You are a spastic, **** off to the General.

    The board for nuthuggers is called "general forum". You are at the wrong place.

    So Calzaghe (fighting at '60-75?!) beats Pavlik, Winky, Tarver, ODLH, Trinidad? And Hopkins loses to Kessler?

    You are an absolutely woeful ******* of a fanboy.

    The thing is Roy Jones doesn't like southpaws and Calzaghe is so fast that Jones would be unable to rely on his key attributes. Speed and reflexes. Calzaghe's own speed negates them and Jones hasn't got the skillset of a Joe Calzaghe to fall back on.

    You can also put Robin Reid on Hopkins list of losses, if Eastman could take several rounds, then Reid would have likely beaten that Hopkins.

    Trampie, you probably think you are nuthugging, expressing pro-Calzaghe views, but to be honest it is more likley that you are underestimating Calzaghe. Even you have been brainwashed by the American boxing media into putting Joe Calzaghe's boxing abilities down...I find this situation here to be very ironic, to such an extent it causes me physical pain.

    According to boxrec Calzaghes height is 5'11", Hopkins height is 6'1", Calzaghe reach is 73" and Hopkins reach 75".

    Hopkins weighed 177 lbs for his first fight and Calzaghe 167 lbs, Hopkins weighed 175lbs for his last fight, Calzaghe weighed 174 1/2 lbs.

    When they fought each other they both weighed 173 lbs, both boxers weightwise are in the same ball park there is no reason not to compare their resumes by swapping opponents, Calzaghe wins hands down this is uncomfortable for some people, but Calzaghe comes out better than Bhop.

    Is it going to be as terrible as your first list was? Or will I be about to make it past #20 without seeing Jack Johnson this time?
