I'm an Oscar fan, but I thought he clearly lost that fight. I was a bit surprised of the split decision.
I think his career and legacy would've been far better, as with no 0 to protect he would've likely taken on better challenges at 40 and 47.
I'm a fan of both and I could see how someone may have seen it slightly in Oscar's favor. I thought Floyd clearly won more rounds personally.

but it really doesn't show the fight. i understand why you would look at it, but as far as using it to decide a winner, it's quite useless.
I understand. That's what I try to explain Pac's victory and draw with Marquez. The lopsided stats are due to Castillo's dominance in the later rounds. Doesn't really matter if JLC outpunched Floyd 30-5 or something, it's still scored 10-9. Floyd won the early rounds. But from what I've read, most people have JLC winning on their cards, barely. Judges cards have the last say though, even though I don't agree with the judges scores in that fight.
I've seen the fight twice and have basically come to the conclusion that it was a draw. I'd say if either fighter deserved to win it was Castillo, though. Floyd won the rematch handily enough, but it's pretty absurd that people think Floyd was capable of beating guys like Duran or Chavez at LW based on these fights.
It doesn't really matter anyway. Compubox is a bunch of ****. I can't believe boxing fans actually pay attention to those inaccurate statistics. I didn't have too much of a problem with the decision like many others did. Castillo fought well and did some really nice work to the body, but took a very long time to get going and gave away too many rounds.
Floyd got hurt in this fight. It was very close and could have went either way, but Mayweather rematched him immediately and won a unanimous decision.
114-112 Floyd. hard fight to score, i've watched that fight 100 times and no matter how I try to score it the score always comes up the same.
I love how people hate on Mayweather for having a close fight against a prime Castillo. Like it's something to be ashamed of or something. As if to be great Mayweather need to dominate every seconds of every rounds against every boxer in the world. No great boxer in history has ever done that. Why does it have to be different with Mayweather or other modern greats?
I thought Castillo beat him again in the rematch. He deserved at least a draw. Certainly no easy decision win for Floyd as all 3 judges had it by a narrow margin, closer than the first fight, 115-113. I scored the first fight exactly the same than the thread starter. I agree with every round, 114-112.
