Bunce on Setanta is being repeated regular-it was shown twice yesterday! Have to say Roggie might have a face for radio but he is good on the box

I'd agree with you but Maludrottu is Italian and the EBU are as bent as as €8 note.

Booth and Dunne wouldn't come close to selling the Point either. Also, I'd definitely like Bernard to have a tune up before going back to title level even if its against someone like Booth

He is very good and yes his record aint great - but he's only had 15 fights so thats not his fault and his has dispatched what has been put infront of him with ease. I posted this about a week ago on another forum.

been watchin all the Pirog fights I could find on youtube. But havent got round to the Jantuah fight which I hear was a wee *******.

Pirog looks a quality operator. However, slightly predictable. Obviously a traditional pressure fighter, supremely fit and very good footwork - looks really well schooled but very really made any impression at amatuer level.

But like I say he does look a predictable and throws the same combinations. High muffler type guard and then switches to a "Mayweather type" cross guard when he feels comfortable, constantly bobbing and weaving his way in as he walks down the opponant. Loves to throw the double jab from the orthodox stance and then dips down to deliver a heavy right to the body but in doing drops his left to his chest and is open for the counter.

He's also got a mean left to the body which is half a hook and then he flows it up with a corkscrew left uppercut.

i think priog open to body shots because of his tight guard...but his footwork could be a real problem for matt ala moore-foreman...if matt can land a couple of heavy shots early on to unsettle priog then it could make all the difference when it comes to the decision at the end

Here are the categories and winners - let me know if you agree or if I am overlooking someone.

Fighter of the Year - Dunne beats McCloskey and Macklin (not forgetin Rogan)

Fight of the Year - Dunne-Cordoba edges past Rogan-Skelton and Lindsay-Appleby

All Domestic Fight of the Year - Hyland-***an followed by Sinclair-Coyle

    Comeback - Neil Sinclair

Breakthrough - Martin Lindsay then John O'Donnell

Newcomer - Carl Frampton - also a mention for Conlan and Prunty

That would bring a tear to a glass eye. Amazing stuff alright from Bernard. Not bad company to be in there.

Those Gorilla Productions are always amazing though

Domestic FOTY has to be Long-Fitz!!! Either one, but I'd have to plump for the second one. I can see the savage beauty like it was yesterday. 14 rounds of the best ever seen in an Irish ring.

How about KO of the Year. Lindsay v Matthews, Macklin v Asikainen or Dunne v Cordoba - three alone off the top of my head.

he lost a world title fight against a guy that is top 3 in the division - remind me who McCloskeys wins in 2009 were again. Come on Frameister!

    lindsay-matthews was 2008:nono

im not disputing that dunnes win was over higher calibre opponent...but he also folded like a deckchair against the thai....i dont want to b dissing bernard any more as its making me feel guilty :verysad...but i feel mcclokey has looked solid in his 2 performances this year and has a big big big year ahead of him next year:good

Nice one, fra, I got too excited thinking about big KOs - again, I remember Lindsay's like it was yesterday - I stand humbly corrected. D'oh!

I'd still go with Bernard for fighter of the year. It was an unbelievable achievement against Cordoba considering how his weak whiskers. McCloskey or Macklin wouldn't be too far off though.
