pac beat cotto at 145 catchweight for a 147 pound title and if you ask me cotto wasnt a win you could consider a atg win because he didnt beat Joshua Clottey

Money had no money before the Marquez fight, lost much of it on dud investments- in fact he owed $$$$lots of money.. (he is laughably amateur with money) and after tax, Goldenboys cut, his fight overheads, IRS bill, legal expenses, Marquez weight clause, his huge family upkeep etc etc I imagine he is still in huge debt

Enlighten me. Why should Pac be ranked higher than Floyd Please tell me.

Tell me how is it possible to be reated higher in ATG status for beating THE SAME TWO fighters...That Floyd JUST BEAT...And not immediately.
Pac beat Hatton 18 MONTHS AFTER FLOYD.
Pac beat Oscar 20 MONTHS AFTER FLOYD...I have never been an Oscar Fan...But as a Fan of Boxing, I can tell that Oscar was a VERY GOOD fighter. But any fight fan will tell you...THAT THERE WAS NO WAY IN HELL OSCAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIGHTING AT 147LBS...A WEIGHT HE HASN'T FOUGHT AT SINCE 2001.

And beating a Mentally SHOT Cotto is a Big Deal?

I am not taking anyting way from Pacquiao. He is a very good fighter (TOP SHELF, ELITE-LEVEL). IMO, I just rate Floyd higher.

    Plain and Simple.

His resume in the lower weights. Record 7 titles win. Superior resume - even a better recent resume at WW. He beat Hatton at HATTON's weight in 2 rounds (Rather than Floyd beating JMM at a weight JMM never fought at or belonged in and beating Hatton at 147). He beat Cotto who Floyd never fought. Demolished Oscar, and beat a whole list of fighters in previous weight classes. Morales, Barerra 2X, JMM, Diaz, etc. His lower weight resume is his best stuff. The WW aren't his best names, yet he's dominated at it better than Floyd has. Don't discredit the Cotto win either. It's still a better WW win than what Floyd has. What makes Floyd so much better... beating these WW first and guys like Gatti and Zab Judah? More titles, better names, more wins. Simple...

    Pac Resume > Floyd Resume
    Pac Achievements > Floyd Achievements

Plain and simple. You're biased, and not objective. You are almost like a black version of Farmboxer.

Have you seen what Floyd did at 130 and 135lbs. he CLEANED OUT THE ENTIRE 130LBS DIVISION...CLEANED IT OUT!!!

You put way tooo much emphasis on beating hatton and Oscar in the fashioned Pacquiao did. Floyd does'nt have 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th round KO's...He is not that kind of fighter. He's more patient, calculating and smart...Its kinda like Poker...HE LETS YOU SHOW YOUR HAND FIRST...THEN HE HITS YOU WITH A FULL HOUSE...(LATE KO).

As for the Oscar fight...Oscar was a TOP 2 or 3 154lbs fighter in the World when Floyd fought him at 154lbs. but When Pacquiao fought him...Oscar had pretty much given up on the sport when he decided to "kill himself" at make 147lbs to might Manny.

You mentioned the long list of the SAME KIND OF FIGHTERS on Pac's resume...Morales, Barerra, Solis, JMM, Diaz...All fighters Pac was faster than. They all have the same STAND STILL AND GET HIT STYLE!!!

Pacquiao Has yet to step into the ring with someone with the same or superior handspeed.

If this fight does not happen...Pac has so many options at 140lbs...(4 belt holders - Timothy Bradley, Juan Urango, Marcos Maidana and Devon Alexander) Yet the Fighter Arum, Roach and Manny have been mentioning is Malinaggi and Yuri Forman....REALLY??? SERIOUSLY???

And for the record...after several "back n' forth" conversation with you, I have used opinions of fights, reasons why I think Fighter A, is more better and/or more well-rounded than Fighter B....

YET YOU CAN ONLY COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT MY APPRECIATION FOR A FIGHTER IS BASED ON SKIN COLOR AND SHARING THE SAME CULTURE???

You know...I apologize for attempting to have a reasonable debate with you about fighters. obviously, you feel more comfortable taking it to a far more JUVENILE LEVEL instead of keeping it about the FIGHTERS!!!

    Again...MY BAD:-(

Darryl. Let's be honest. Simply, explain to me how Floyd has a better resume. No mumbo jumbo. No "Pac hasn't fought someone faster than him," as if that's a legit reason to rank Floyd higher. Resume to resume, and factoring the fact that he's a 7 weight division champion. How can you rank Floyd ahead of Pac?

You're explanation seems to be that you think Floyd is more well-rounded and a better fighter. And because of this, he ranks higher than Pac. It's too personal of a method in evaluating a fighter. It leaves you too subjectively make your mark on why Fighter A is better than Fighter B when the reality of their ring accomplishments and resume don't stack up. In this case. Pac is and should be ranked higher than Floyd. And that's why the majority of experts, writers, and boxing historians agree with me. More people on this site and in the Classic section (The place you'll find the best posters).

Now, in my criteria in terms of evaluating greatness I do factor skills/abilities, and pros/cons. However, that's such a minute and marginal aspect of the pie that I can't possibly argue someone like Pernell Whitaker is greater than Henry Armstrong or Roberto Duran because his "ability" and well-roundedness as a fighter is superior. Leaves way too much room for the individual to be biased if they use this method. I factor only about 10% for this department when analyzing how great a fighter truly is. :good

I'm curious. How high do you rank Benny Leonard and Willie Pep on your ATG list? Thanks :good

If Floyd fights Shane or Williams or Berto you can honestly say Pac ranks Higher?

now i heard he wants Matton that will be a disapointment but shane or berto wont be ready till the summer.

But Pac resume is no better then Floyd minus the Cotto win.

    a bunch of tough mexicans
