First off I created this thread because I want to know more about this fighter.

Despite his record he appears to be a serious contender. I have never seen any video of him! I want to hear from those who have seen him fight on tv or in person what they think of him.

Moreover, a trainer friend of mine told me he recently left GBP becuase they did not manage him properly.

Seen some of lopez's fights on espn, and the guy can fight and is worthy of a world title! for me he beats foreman, cintron, angulo, chavez and spinks. Martinez i think might just be to much for lopez. the reason lopez's record is bad is because he turned pro early no amateur background so had to learn his trade on the job. Its a shame he is inactive at the moment last i heard he had left de la hoya's promotions and signed with erick morales promotion team

Tall southpaw with a great piston jab. Usually a right jab, left hand kind of fighter, but in his last fight at 154 he used the right hand a lot more and threw good combinations with both hands. Jr. middleweight is his best weight IMO. He can box well and is prety light on his feet for a tall man. One flaw is his suspect chin.

Problems is he's not very well known with a bad record so you can expect the top guys to avoid him like the plague. Unfortunately, David "The Destroyer" may never get his shot at the big names. He's also been inactive since early in 2009. Not a good thing to do if you want to get your name out there in the public eye.

And oh yeah, he's also ****ing 32 with lots of miles on the odometer. So if he doesn't get a big name to fight him soon he's prety much ****ed.

South Paws are a pain in the ass. That straight left can end any fight.

I have a question about your avatar. Is that a staredown, or two homos in a good night kiss?

I think David's best chance is to put his nose to the grind stone, get busy and make himself Sylvester's next mandatory. There's more money at 160 than there is at 154, and Lopez can beat Sylvester. Afterward he could give KP a good fight, pick up a great pay day, and call it a day. Love to see him take a shot at training after that.
