At this time I am sick of Oscar.

 

Well one of the reasons i posted on this thread is cause im really sick of the Manny and Mayweather talk. Sounds like a bunch of:fight:gayfight going back an forth about whos scared whos not scared. We all know this fights gonna happen just sit back and wait,while they go thru all this pre fight hype bull****.

 

It's a tough crowd. Alot of very knowledgeable people there, well a good handful, but Oscar is like the devil to them. You don't get many nuthuggers at all really, just a lot of absolute haters.

 

Whether they like it or not, Oscar will always be a topic of discussion in any boxing forum for decades to come, which speaks volumes about the legacy he left.

 

My favorite fighter along with Duran is Oscar. Ive met him several times and we are from the same Area One of his old trainers also trained me when i was young Al Stankie. Oscars was a protege and he was known around the East La gyms when he was still in Jr High.

Can't remember who it was but one of the PR posters on this forum knew Trinidad from way back in the day when they trained at the same gym as kids.

 

Well his main gym was the ressurection i was at Hollenback but Oscar would go there too it was a gym right next to the Police station in East LA(Boyle Heights) I remember him having to spar with guys much older than him he was like 13 and sparred with guys 17 and older. Al Stankie trained him at one time a former cop and pro boxer who also trained another Gold medal guy from East La Paul Gonzalez. Oscar split his time between Hollenback and Ressurection (spending most at the ressurection) and i slowed down on going since i took a long bus ride at the time. I was like 16,17 then. I stopped boxing for a while but i would hear of him from time to time about his various amatuer titles
My Cousin went to Garfield High School with him and they once bumped each other in the Hallways and my cousin got in his face he said Oscar just kept walking. He laughs to this day at the time thinking he would have whupped Oscars ass,but admits he would have got a rude awakening(or should I say a Nap) if he would have pushed the issue further. He said Oscar was hardly ever at school though. I guess he was always at that olympic training center in Michigan.
Also seen him at a night club in Montebello(right after he won the olympics) and me and my buddy were talking to him in the restroom,since my friends dad hung out with Oscars uncle. We were laughing about his uncle Lalo how he gets all drunk Oscars really cool ive met him a couple of other times when he was already real famous,but never could talk too long with him as he was always Mobbed like a Rock Star. Oh yeah later that night Some drunk dude tried to get crazy with Oscar and Oscar jumped up real quick but Oscars people Rushed that dude and the bouncers ended up throwing that guy out.

Matter of fact, all you guys really said was I think he is better cause he fought more people and started talkin bout how much you love him and going to high school wit him and hangin out in bathrooms and having conversations wit him and ****. Just starting drowning in the manlove, so i left it alone.
