By not agreeing to the test, Pac deserves all the suspicion laid upon him. And...

In fairness, Floyd's camp probably don't give a damn about stringent dug testing in general and are just trying to unsettle Pac using rather embarassing tactics. It's clear what the majority on that thread thought, and they are probably right about GBP.

Having said that, just because GBP are saying these things to unsettle Pac, if they WERE serious about stringent drug testing, they'd have every right to be because they should be serious about it. So whether they are serious or not is pretty irrelevant especially as Pac is so reluctant about the random testing. PBF's camp didn't anticipate Pac's reluctance, and now what was formerly embarassing bull**** from them has been given legitimacy.

Because of the way it has been span by the Mayweather's. Rather than just bring in the new rules Pacquaio has been singled out and his good name has been blackened without any evidence whatsoever.

I'm in favor of drug and steroid testing to the highest degree as long as it doesn't compromise the mindset of the athlete. But, more importantly, I'm in favor of fairness and equality. Manny Pacquiao has passed 10 officially mandated doping tests performed on him. Yet, he is baselessly being accused of using PEDS and being asked to provide more testing, not all boxers, JUST MANNY PACQUIAO. Al Haymon says he is only protecting Floyd. If that is true, why hasn't he shown the same protection for his other boxer that he promotes Andre Berto when he fights Shane Mosley, A KNOWN STEROID USER, on January 30?

Please remember, most people on this board make it sound like Manny flat out refused blood testing when the truth is he only showed concern over the timing of the tests and the proximity to the fight date. From what I know, Manny has agreed to blood testing, just not days before fight, and that they be performed by the offically mandated Nevada State Athletic Commission, a proposal rejected by the Mayweathers.

To conclude, the Mayweathers rejected Manny's acceptance of blood testing.

He can only prove that he isn't using drugs in the preparation of any fights he takes in the future, even if it's only one more. He and everyone else should be given random testing. All his former wins should stand as even if Pac was actually proven guilty of using drugs, you can't tell from exactly when he started using them.

The title is misleading. The consensus in this board is that Pac is not guilty. How many polls do you need? You can make a poll in this thread and ask the board if they think that Pac is guilty.

Pac's name wouldn't be blackened if he just cooperated or at least insisted that he would take whatever tests he had to whenever he had to, as long as the type of testing he endures is mandatory for all fighters from now on. True, Pac shouldn't have been singled out, but he should still agreed, instead of giving the claims of PBF's camp legitimacy.

i agree but i think in his future fights unless it is floyd, he would still stick to the same protocol. Unless he voluntarily demands to Olympic style drug testing which is unlikely and people would still see him as a suspected cheat, i don't think any of his future opponents would demand Olympic style testing

Pac can't be guilty since you need evidence for that and there is none. Judging by their actual physiques I'd say Mayweather is more likely to be taking steroids then Pacquiao.

im a huge pac fan but i dont understand why he's suing for being accused of taking steriods he's not the first boxer to be accused of it. if he's worried about his legacy he should take the ****ing test, prove everyone wrong and be done with it.

i dont see anything wrong with what mayweather has done. put yourself in mayweathers shoes, you're undefeated, if he wins this fight will cement his place in the sports history as a legend and one of the best, if he loses he's going to go down as a really good fighter and people will always doubt his abilities. he's being a business man and he's covering all bases to secure that the fight is as fair as possible.

The timing of the testing shouldn't be an issue really. The testing should be at random points and there should be no room to negotiate about the proximity of the testing. Different drugs stay in the system for different amounts of time and so when a fighter decides to not be tested at a specific time, it arouses suspicion. Even if the reason the fighter gives could be a legitimate one, it could just as easily be a smokescreen.

And it's almost certain that the allegations were made to unsettle Pac and Al Haymon is showing clear hypocrisy and in promoting a fight against Mosley although Mosley's offence was years ago and he almost certainly isn't using PED now as he'd be watched like a hawk (although he and every other fighter should be made to take the same measures as Pac was asked to for PBF).

What I do want to know is what was the reason that the Mayweathers rejected the idea of the Nevada Boxing Commission conducting the tests? Is it simply because they don't think the testing would be strict enough.

Anyway the bottom line is this - if the measures that GBP were proposing aren't implemented through all of boxing, and if GBP haven't mentioned they want that to happen as a springboard of Pac's testing, then Pac had every right to tell them to **** off (although again, he shouldn't have).

No, you need evidence to be someone to be proven guilty, not for the person in question to actually be guilty. And when they opportunity to obtain answers either way is being denied, then questions can justifiably be asked.

I'm not saying Pac is innocent or guilty. I thought he was 100% innocent until a couple of days ago.

Olympic style testing should be mandatory in boxing, it shouldn't be a case of fighters demanding it....
