Count on it the man is an absolute beast!!! Styles make fights don't read too much into the machida loss. He beat Drwal and Drwal is no joke check his resume out. Silva KO's people early his fights rarely go the distance he's a natural brawler and not only that he is a born and bred brazilian JJ expert too. Evans aint ready for the pressure Silva will put him under and this'll be Silva's coming out partty mark my words.
Evans has a lot quicker feet. I think he'll make Silva miss and eventually either take him down enough times for a UD or stop him with ground and pound. Silva is good when guys stand in front of him but I don't think he ever has a plan b.
I can see this happening as well although I doubt he'll try and wrestle Silva just get the points for taking him down then standup and frustrate him again because Silva is actually much bigger andd probably just as good on the grund so I don't evans will want to keep it there.
The man has some brutal striking and GNP. No doubt about it. Both these guys can crack yet both have shown quite breakable chins.
I've said it before but Evans needs to realize he is a wrestler first. Take down, get his ground licks in without making it a battle and get his ass back up are his only chances IMO.
Spot on analysis. Evans' strength has always been in his wrestling. If he would fight out of that style instead of trying to be a kick boxer - he could beat Silva. However Silva is not one to be counted out. That cat is serious.
I think Silva is the perfect style for Evans. Evans is a good counter puncher and we know Silva is very agressive and his shots come a bit wide he will be left open for clean counters and his chin has never proven to be granite. Although Silva winning is very likely, this is an excellent fight.
i think evans has something to prove and plans on steamrolling silva. will it go down like that? i dunno we'll see.
What leads you to say that? Apart from being able to mount Alexander, when has he shown his chops on the ground? I'm not saying he doesn't have them, I'm just saying that I personally have never seen them and if you have seem more of him than I have, let me know when and where.
He has a 77% take down defence success rate success. Has never lost to a takedown and finally grew up, trained with and started fighting with fellow Brazilians who were mostly BJJ practioners and above all has far bigger cauliflower ears than Evans so has definitely spent many-a-day on the mat for experience :hey I think Thiago will shock the world tonight I really do. Thiago reminds me alot of Rampage in that they're both very powerful come forwards fighters with underated GG's.
Didn't Machida also take Evans down and stop him? :yep Styles make fights. Machida is a slick counter puncher and Thiago's standup was perfect for him but Rashad issn't quiet as fast or accurate as Machida + Evans doesn't do the karate trip. Remember, Evans has lost to Machida too. Drew with Ortiz only 2.5 years back when really he lost beacuase Tito was deducted a point for holding the cage and finally there's a very disputed win versus Michael Bisping where many thought Evans got a clear gift. Thiago has one legitimate loss against a man who had his number. I think many many people over overestimating Evans here. I may be wrong but we shall see in a few hours!
