Unprecedented? No, Zab Judah asked Shane Mosley to do the same thing. The only difference was Shane told him to **** himself straight away rather than making a big fuss about it, and nobody really gave a **** about that fight anyway, so it wasn't such a big deal. Unwarranted? I see all types of stipulations that could be seen as unwarranted like Cotto having to make 145 with his welterweight title on the line, etc. Sometimes these stipulations actually give one fighter a clear advantage, and I just don't see that being the case here.
Yes, it is as if PBF passed the fight up. The fight was made, Floyd changed the rules. He's trying to make Pac jump hurdles to get him in the ring and Pac refuses to do it. Pac wants to fight, Floyd doesn't. That's what it looks like, and that's how it will be remembered.
I don't see Pacquiao asking for any special concessions or rules changes. He just wants to get in the ring and do his business. It's PBF throwing ****** wrenches in the works, and I'll say it again for the new page: If Pac had agreed to this, PBF would have invented some other hurdle to jump until he found one Pac couldn't get over. He had no intention of getting in the ring with Pac at any time. This is a blow to PBF's record that will never clear up, never go away. This is how he will be remembered.
The man who is content to beat up aged, worn fighters exclusively and uses slander to not have to fight a single legit fight in years ?
10oz gloves are standard for welterweight fights in NV. You think Floyd asked for the 8oz gloves with his brittle ass hands? $10 million penalty for Floyd coming in over 147...You think Floyd asked for that? Pacquiao has asked for and has been granted concessions.
Obviously you have a different opinion than I of what concessions are deemed too big and too small in this particular matter; not to mention what criteria constitutes being a legend but that's nor here or there. These sort of things are opinion based so people are going to naturally disagree. However, what can't be disagreed upon is that Mayweather and his team created a negotiating term that's never been negotiating on before and attempted to force it on Pac by bringing his integrity and accomplishments into question. You continually point the finger at Pac for not conceding to Mayweather's "small demand" but you refuse to acknowledge the fact that this fight would be happening if it wasn't for this uncustomary wrench being thrown into the equation. If it's such an insignificant request than I ask why Mayweather and his team just drop this most irregular demand and limit the terms of this negotiation only on things that are customary to all other negotiations? Again, the fight would be signed, seal, and delivered by now if the terms of this negotiation were limited only to the regular and customary terms of any other negotiation, period.
so what? just because manny's reaction is a little bit delayed it's not valid? besides, all those damned excuses came from arum and roach. manny from the very beginning stated his reasons for not wanting blood drawn too close before the fight. why should stringent testing not be anymore important just because zabs and shane's fight wasn't important? i could've sworn the mayweather camp have said that they want a fair playing field for the fighters. cotto looked really in tip top shape for the fight. he made no complaints about his loss.
all he has to do is take a blood test...a stipulation that there from the beginning of negotiations...negotiations that floyd agreed to quickly this stipulation wasn't a problem until floyd agreed so quickly, the suddenly it was the end of the world, non-negotiable, for team pac team maywether was even will to negotiate on the test, dropping the USADA and agreeing to a cut-off date Team pac has been all over the place on the issue, and then fianlly backpedaled to where they have conceded nothing and refuse to negotiate
you really need to work on your reading comprehension it wasn't a problem unitl floyd agreed so quickly to purse split/gloves/ring/marketing, etc.
