    Although Lauri is expected for Paul's first defence, a contest with "the hitter" Witter could fill any hall in the north. I'm only guessing here but an announcement on Paul's first defence must be imminent as The Kings Hall won't fill overnight, and if the expected fight date be around late February/early March, then one should expect several weeks of PR leading up to the event.

    This quote is from the Brit Forum on Setantas Christmas special. The easy ladies remark is concerning Slapbangwallop spat with Barry, but the other part of the post about Setanta maybe getting involved with boxing here could be the best new year present any Irish boxing fan could hope for. Team Hyland could bring good international opponents over for the brothers. Big Irish title fights like Sinclair/Moore could happen, and bigger audiences would be tuning in to Irish boxing, thus raising the profile of the sport even higher.

    was out with grandad hyland he told me eddie was heading out to the ukraine end of jan to 10 day camp for sparring with euro champ quite possibly could be a rematch against one of his 2 irish competetors ***an/o,hara, pajo,s going to be defending his irish title in feb but said phill suttcliffe is not going with a show in feb

    that could be great news if they got involved...they have pumped a lot of dough into the setanta cup and gaa... so why dont a bit of money for the boxing

    As much as it's important to look to the future, it's also very important to look at the past. On this lazy Sunday afternoon, take some time out and enjoy these legends at work in a bygone age.     Is it in Kings Hall for sure? Wouldnt fancy a return to Magherafelt- unless I bring my thermal underwear! Of course Dudey was due to fight witter before so I would fancy his chances. Hopefully Frampton gets on undercard anyway

    Anything extra is an improvement. If it has to be FNF cards on the Saturday so be it. I hardly know a load of people who are going to be telling me the results anyway so I'm sure I could maintain the suspense until the next day if needs be.

    I see Booth is down as fighting Matthew Marsh in Feb for the brit title. If Munroe vacates it would be hard to see Booth, presuming he comes through Marsh, being out again too quickly (although I may be wrong) might open the door for a Maludrottu - Dunne EBU fight. Maybe that would pique Dunnes interest at SBW once more

    Your more than welcome friend. The commentator is Eamonn McAuley an ex pro, who fought for The Sacrad Heart club along side the Magee brothers [ Terry, Noel and Eamonn] and Darren Corbett. Eamonn is a close friend of my brother [ there in the same prayer group ].Here's some of his knock outs.

    Question for you Ardy, although its about a Ballymena man so might be harder for you to answer, did Eamon Loughran ever get involved in training after he hung up the gloves? He retired very young so he still must be a young enough man? Just wondering if hes involved at any level?
