The Mayweather effect...

Just to remind you guys of when I started to lose faith in Mayweather.

 

Boxing is becoming popular because of Pac when Floyd retired. Now, boxing is a mess after Floyd unretired.

 

cant knock a fighter for sticking to "his fight game"...the w counts more than anything in the end...at the pro level in any sport the w is most important...

 

Everyone knows Mayweather has talent. EVERYONE.

The problem people have is that he says he is the GREATEST OF ALL TIME. And then doesn't even fight the best opponents in HIS OWN DIVISION. Cotto, Mosely, Margarito, Williams.

You don't become great by playing it safe and not taking any risks.

 

Yeah, because all know Marciano > Ali.

 

Floyd might be the most talented fighter today- and would be favored to beat every other welterweight. .....but he still has to do it- you still gotta go thru and execute it to get the credit. Hed be getting all of Pacquiaos credit if hed taken out cotto like he was set up to - or mosely- and beaten oldh or hatton in the same fashion pac did- by engaging. thats the thing about floyd thats so frustrating for his fans- and why theres the constant fighting here- he s so so talented but never really tests it. it hurts the sport. then he goes on talking **** about not wanting to fight for legacy cos legacy dont pay the bills- and there is nothing cool about being hit. Well- floyd - hate to tell you - but legacy does pay the bills- ever hear of tiger woods, michael jordan? you could get there if you made yourself a legend- derived from the word legacy. and getting hit may not be cool- but hitting sure is. all this **** he spouts- is really indefensible- even his most die hard fans can only defend him with his skils and talent- but not his matchups or his words.

 

I just love how everyone brings up those 4 guys.

Williams: I'm not even sure he can make 147 anymore, and besides what has been his biggest fight to date?

Cotto: If Mayweather fought him everyone would cry that he was damaged goods, and people like to forget that Floyd blew through 140 and Cotto kept Mayweather's name out of his mouth.

Mosley: If Mayweather fought him people would cry that Mayweather fought and old man. I want to see this fight, Mayweather has the style to neutralize Mosley.

Margarito: Got caught with plaster in his gloves, people aren't sure if he should even be in the top 10 of the weight class because he could have used that substance in his fights with Cotto and Cintron.
