What fights did you hear were brilliant but never saw what all the fuss was about?

I must say, having heard and read people raving that the first Leonard - Hearns fight was an absolute class, I was expecting alot more. Don't get me wrong, it was of huge importance and a great level of skill and huge level of talent was put on show that night, not to mention the dramatic come back from Leonard, but I felt at times there wasn't a whole lot going on and even the stoppage wasn't that great. It's still a favorite fight of mine as I am a huge leonard fan and love the fabulous four but when I hear people say that it's one of the greatest fights they've seen, it puzzles me.

    Any others?

Especially the Ali-Liston fights. I think the Dempsey-Tunney fights are a tad bit overated and pretty one-sided. Don't get me wrong I love both fighters but I guess "The Long Count" controversy hyped those fights.

Hard to think of one, but I do agree pac/cotto was a little overblown. The first rounds were pretty good, but cotto on the defensive doesn't make a fight much fun to watch. Especially for a cotto fan.

Ali Foreman is the best example of ring intelligence I have ever seen.

No one in boxing ever laid against the ropes against a huge power puncher, or started off a fight with right hand leads against him.

    I **** you not.

People act like that fight is a legit FOTY or a strong contender. While it was a a very good fight it is overrated to me.
It's not even Cotto's best fight, his fights with Torres,Judah,Pacquiao and Mosley have been better.
Besides the question and answer here is opinionated.

Oscar-Floyd, i was expecting great fight, but Floyd doesn't really had any graet fights, his style is made to win, not to be great.

:goodMiguel dominated the first 6 rounds then Margo came on strong for the second half of the fight and forced the stoppage.

Hagler-Hearns was only competitive for like 2 mins of the 1st round, after that it was all Hagler
