I was curious to see what people how a prime (Kostya Tszyu era) Hatton would do to the likes of Tim Bradley, Devon Alexander, Amir Khan, Marcos Maidana and Victor Ortiz? (no need to mention Paulie and Urango, he beat both)
Yeah but if he was in his prime, he would unify the division without a doubt. If he got back to the weight now he wouldnt be far off the top fighters if not as good as some and even better would all depend on his desire these days
Hatton was never that great to begin with... without help from the ref in Manchester he doesn't beat an old KT. Ricky is a good champ, p4p not quite as good as, say, Cotto, who isn't p4p as good as guys like, say, JMM. I would make him 50/50 with Bradley and make him favorite over the others, except for maybe Alexander who I really haven't seen enough of to give an educated opinion.
probably would have beaten all except bradley... him and bradley probably would have been tight with bradley edging him out late.. in a decision
:good Ortiz would last about one round b4 quiting, maidana would be shown what pressure is all about and as for khan i think it would be a good fight but a prime Ricky would break him down and stop him in 7 - 8 rounds
in his prime i think he unifies and holds, he was in his prime some way before the tsyzu fight really so its a pity he got stuck joking around for so long
IMO Hatton peaked at the Tszyu fight and was on a slow decline starting with Maussa. Hatton circa 2003/2004 would have been a handful for anyone in the 140 pound division today and likely handles them all.
