I bounced between the previous page with all the post that were fairly recent just to confirm they were talking about Sugar Ray Robinson, and didn't jump to anybody else. Then back to the last page with his post. Probably 10 times. Utterly dumbfounded. Noticed there were no replies afterwards. I think I might have been one of the first to respond after that with a "Well, this is awkward". ****ing legendary post on his part. That thread should be stickied.
Can someone post the link I have no idea what you're talking about. The pic of Leonard and calzaghe has only made me more curious

Fleaman the 'rigged' fantasy fights that your referring too are based on individual posters claims that their 'tournaments' are strictly random .... Funny how their 'random' tournaments never have say, 'Hagler v Monzon' at 160 in the first round .... Or Ezzard Charles v Michael Spinks in the first round at 175 .... They are 'rigged' in the purpose of the posters own individual agenda .... When a poster posts a thread involving a 'Tournament', you must realise that that poster has a bias towards a certain fighter in that division, and he is not going to let his favourite fighter be eliminated in the first round .. Which is why in the tournaments that your talking about, that i criticised .. At 160 Monzon was thrown in at 160 against Roy Jones Jr - this was aimed at getting either Monzon or Jones eliminated, and im pretty sure that the OP didnt care which of these went out, probably to allow Greb or Hagler to win .. At 175 you had Ezzard Charles v Roy Jones - Again this was aimed at getting a fighter that the OP didnt particularly like out of the tournament in the early rounds, which was Roy Jones .... The posters on here who devise these tournaments especially the 2 that i remember, wanted Roy Jones Jr out of the tournament so they threw him in with the acknowledged best in their respective division knowing that people had no alternative in to vote with the historical perspective .... Fleaman you cant be this naive, your not a young innocent, you must be able to recognise what is an 'Agenda Driven' thread .... And so-called 'Random' tournaments are always 'Agenda Driven' by the OP ..... Usually the guy who starts a 'Tournament' thread 'works' it so his favourite fighter is at least in the final .. Theres nothing random about it .. This is basic psychology, every poster on here has his favourite fighters and wants them to be spoken of in the most positive light possible .. However much we try and be unbiased, its impossible .... Recognise 'Agenda Driven' threads Fleaman and shoot them down like Axl .. Stop fawning and kissing ass, say what you really think for once in your life, stop trying to be popular ....
AXL NOSE i did the MW tourny and why would i fix it? I drew it randomly if i remember it was Hagler vs Greb and Monzon vs Jones Jr in the same round
GPATER .. It was rigged for 'debate' purposes .. And you wont convince me otherwise .. May i firstly say that i have the ultimate respect for your posts and threads .. You are a guy that comes up with some original opinions that i thouroghly enjoy reading, and thats what forums are for .. Every time i post a thread or individual post im getting called an ******* by someone, and i really know thats the reaction im aiming for because it prolonges the debate and you get a full dicotomy of different opinions .... Gpater, i dont believe that the 'Tournament' you did was 100% random, you put matchups in there that you knew would spark debate .. If im wrong, i apologise but all these tournaments seem to smooth for me. But like i say Gpater, you are a guy that i enjoy reading, many people on ESB especially Classic Forum tend to re-hash opinions that they've read in articles and make out its their own opinion .. But you come up with some original ideas that i enjoy reading .... After all, this is a forum for ideas, which many people on here forget, some people are just after popularity for re-hashing an opinion from someone else .. Gpater your a top poster, but 'Random Tournaments' dont exist, or let me say, I dont believe they exist with zero bias whatsoever .... I am certainly a poster that people love to hate, i take that as a complement .. Admittedly im wrong sometimes, but im not afraid to go against the grain like some people .. Its like a sunday school tea party in here sometimes with everyone agreeing with each other, and endless statistical analysis that people have read somewere .. Original individual opinions are what makes great reading and Gpater your a guy that comes up with many interesting ones ....
Mythical matchups are fun but they are ultimatley ridiculous .. Boxing is an unpredictable sport at the top level, which is why its so exciting .. 1 punch thrown at any random time can change the course of a fight, i've mantioned this before .. A fighter can throw a single shot and break the jaw or a rib of an opponent, he can throw another shot and break his hand .. Each instance could change the course of a fight .... Heads could clash, a fighter could get a cut .. Theres way to many intangibles for mythical matchups to have any resonance, just because Fighter A beats Fighter B doesnt mean hes going to beat Fighter C .. 1 single punch can change everything .... On this basis .... Mythical Matchups are flawed Mythical Tournaments are ridiculous But still some posters are 100% certain of outcomes of 'Mythical' fights, a totally ridiculous way of thinking in a sport like boxing were 'Form' counts for nothing ....
A good point/post. I think this why you should give odds/percentages when dealing with mythical matchups. Most people probably favor Ali over Dempsey, and so forth. This in and of itself isn't ridiculous. Thinking the outcome is automatic might be, though.
Forgive me i admit i missed this .. I shot from the mouth like i often do without knowing all the facts .. Just tonight i came up with some controversial opinions on Lennox Lewis knowing that guys like 'Fleaman' would pick up on it and come out firing some 'verbal' .. But i always lose track of the threads ive posted on and can never get back to them, i view so many that i never know which ones ive posted on .... Gpater your a great poster, keep coming up with some original ideas .. Too many people on here re-hash old opinions that ive read a million times before, but at least you always offer your own individual opinion on things, thats why im here to read this stuff, me and you may disagree on certain things but i always respect a guy like you and your opinions because i know they are coming from you and not an article that you've read somewere .. The internet is an easy tool to steal opinions which is what many people on here do ....
