I don't think Chandler is more qualified than Rose.

Chandler had more title defenses and was an all around complete fighter, what makes you think different.

Lionel Rose should have had one less title defense since he recieved a gift over Chucho Castillo. Also Chandler had a longer prime and dominance. Yey i know Rose fought some good fighters and was very talented but hes not as qualified as Chandler.

Fair Points. Rose fought in the better era for Bantams IMO

When rating the 2 though you've got to admit that Rose fought the best of his era while Chandler has that glaring omission in Lupe Pintor.
Not knocking him for it but a win or a loss over Lupe would definitely make a difference in his all time standing. the contenders he did fight were all top notch though.

You are correct, but thats not all on Chandler. I was actually a bigger Pintor fan back then, but many thought Chandler was the best bantam. It goes both ways, but i guess Pintor knew that a fight with Gomez was bigger and then he moved up but thats on Pintor. If i remember correctly Chandler was the one always calling out Pintor. Not to say Pintor ducked him, since those other fights were bigger but:huh

I have not done a list in a real long time but off the top of my head probably between 7 and 10 just one notch below Chandler.

Yes i liked him alot and thought he was way more exciting than Chandler but im not so sure if hed beat him. Then again im only 60/40 on that one as i could see Pintor grabbing that too. Back then Chandler was regarded as the slightly better bantam by most, but that seems to have changed over time seems like Pintor is pretty popular with most. Maybe cause of his war with Gomez and his Contro decision over ATG Zarate. Lots of people remember When Sandoval beat up Chandler real bad,but Chandler was past it. Although Sandoval was very good for a little bit but he ended having a hard time making weight and that almost cost him his life against Gaby Canizales who looked and fought like a little Duran in that fight. That was also a pretty good era of Bantams.

Perhaps never really put too much into lists myself and i really like Rose.

Rose defended his title after winningit from Fighting Harada (ATG) then Sakurai (top contender, Olympic Gold meddalist) then Chucho Castillo (Close fight could have went either way; tp contender) and Alan Rudkin (Close fight could have went either way; tp contender) before losing to Olivares (ATG).

    Alright career overral

Well i did state that he fought good comp and was very talented. Ill take my Uncles opinion on Rose getting a gift he was at that fight, and the Crowd started a riot cause of that decision. Castillo was also also a future Champ who beat Olivares although lost the other 2 fights.
