i think ppl under esitmate calzaghi's slaps. yes it doesnt hurt his opponent but it does throw them off (including judges). if it works why not use it. it aint illegal to slap, i know u cant back hand but slap shots are actually allowed.

Looks like calz was protesting the stoppage too. It aint his fault his opponent couldn't stand up straight, but that ref did pick a bad time to step in.

You didn't score anything if you think hops won. What you did is called
"bias viewing." You're letting your hatred of joe cloud your logic. Every
single objective fan and most, MOST boxing experts scored the fight for joe. Hell, even bias teddy atlas scored the fight for joe. The 2 puerto ricans on youtube's boxingforreal said calz won the fight 9-3, minus the kd.

I respect the fact that 2 out of 3 world class judges gave it to Calzaghe, and that he won fair and square. I respect the fact that he was busier over the course of the 12. I respect the fact that his legacy will rightfully be strengthened because of it.

But if you think it wasn't close, I don't respect your opinion.

It is quite funny how Calz almost lost to a 42 year old.

What is even funnier is that his resume is exposed, I knew it would happen just not this soon. :rofl

I remember when Iole said the Klitschkos could never win a title, they were the worst heavyweights out there. Iole and his ilk hate Euro fighters and always will. I saw Calzaghe easily beat Hopkins, not ever a close fight.

Bollocks - Bhop is a defensive master and no one has ever landed more punches on Hopkins than Joe did in that fight - not even a prime RJJ.

Hopkins is a spoiler but Calzaghe was one of the best at adapting during a fight. A clear Calzaghe win for me - if you wanna box like Hopkins you gotta dominate if you want the win.

I know Hopkins is a ESB darling but all this "Hopkins won the fight" **** is over the top. The vast majority of people, including the Amercian judges and American commentry team think Joe did what he had to do, adapted and won the fight.

Joe was better than Bhop - prime vs prime and as we saw, post prime v post prime.

And to be frank, Bhop was a lot closer to his prime than Joe was in that fight.
