He said he wants to fight him, even mentioned roughly when he wants to, but also mentioned being in talks with a number of promoters... maybe im being overly optimistic... but it looks like he does want to take the Maidana fight... pending the 'A-Ok' from Freddie Roach.

Is it just me or is Khan being backed into a corner where he IS going to have to fight Maidana?

Im not saying Khan is scared, but i think all the talk of him maybe vacating to fight Malignaggi may end up being the reason he has to fight Maidana to prove that he isnt scared.

Isn't that the point of his so called improvements? I'm not making a judgement either way on how much he's improved because his opponents have been limited offensively, but the idea is that Warren and Roach are talking up his improvements and ability.

So therefore, dodging Maidana is completely uacceptable. Maidana isn't anything great, he's good not great and is not a guy that should be ducked by Khan or his management.

I think the view was for Khan to make his U.S debut looking good vs a good boxer but maybe lacking real KO power. With the Maidana fight it wont he be a good looking fight and will revert back to the Kotelink fight where Khan will be on the backfoot trying to counter and protect his chin therefore Khan might want that to be staged here in U.K with Warren.

Lets see what develops, my feeling is that they will take the Maidana fight.

I do hope they take the Maidana fight. No doubt Maidana is a big puncher but Khan could definately outbox him, and Maidana's rating is high in America at the moment after taking out Ortiz so Khan could get some major props from the American public if he wins.

I like Khan and think he is maturing as a man as well as a fighter.

It would have been easy for him to say that he could beat Bradley now, safe in the knowledge the fight wouldn't happen til the end of 2010 anyway.

However, he chose to be respectful and be honest by saying he's not ready.

    Good kid is Amir.

"The WBA has called a purse bid for a showdown between WBA super lightweight champion Amir Khan and interim titleholder Marcos Maidana. The bidding will take place at 11AM on Monday, January 18th at the WBA’s Panama office. The bidding will be directed by Gilberto Jesus Mendoza and Jose Oliver Gomez."

Not really what this means. Does that mean he didn't accept the fight and it goes to a bid? Be appreciated if someone could tell me :)
