Just on lunch at work so will be quick but this is a very good question - I'd probably go with a Johnson (because he could end things when he liked but would still probably drag each one out even then) or a Tyson (on power to stop people quick) on this one - I'd dare say Dempsey could get through 6 or 7 in a day aswell - depends how long he had to recuperate in between in and also on what their chins were like but I'd guess Dempsey would try to blast 2 or 3 of them out in 14 seconds apeice a la Fulton hahaha - would insane to watch - would be interesting to know if any of the greats have any records as far as how many sparring partners they knocked out in a day?? oh yeah Foreman did that 5 fights in a day thing aswell - think he might've started to get a bit worn out towards the end though

Anyone who has gone with a Tyson or Dempsey or Johnson or possibly even a Fitzsimmons has missed the point of the movie. The idea is to get someone who people will actually bet against. Hard to do that with a World champ. If you picked a Dempsey, then i would expect a Gene Tunney and Harry Wills to be up the sleeve. Tyson might end up fighting his nemesis Holyfield or even a George Foreman type.

The fighters in the actual movie were the most talented young locals and a few of these young guys actually took a dive. It has been a while since i saw the movie (but one contestent had the runs, two were scheduled to dive (only one did from memory). Also one contestant was shipped in (honeyboys arch enemy) and of course there was the final jailed fighter who helped hustle the hustler.

If i am going for this job, i think that someone like Ron Lipton might have to lace up the gloves.

well then it is gonna be a long list cause beating 10 journeymen in 24hrs is something i believe a lot of fighters could do. some names would be : a young tyson, a prime foreman ( alltough his stamina wasn't that good) louis, lewis, liston, frazier, duran, basilio, armstrong, marciano, jeffries and so on and so on

Well if that could be dangerous even for an atg if you put in a bunch of iron chinned journeyman that could take you alot of rounds, what about guys like Marion WIlson or Emanuel Augustus,Scrap Iron johnson,Kirino Garcia guys who dont get kod and got hardf chins. Those guys have taken many champs the distance. If they were scheduled for 10 rounds and you had a few of these guys that went the distance how is the ATG gonna handle the rest of the 6 or 7?

Yey he as long as he didnt have to fight over 80 rounds in a 24 hour period, that might be his limit.

The kind of guys who could do this are hard hitters. A barrera, who didn't really have great power, would probably find hind himself going a few rounds in all of them...if we're talking journeyman. If we're talking guys off the street who are the same size, I would favor 99% of elite professional fighters to do it.

Jeff had trouble with two guys in one night, Maher did the trick a few times with two opponents. Jeffries opposition was better and it proves that to beat more than 1 contender on a night could be difficult.
