You're legacy doesn't enhance beating guys you are heavily favored to beat. Especial under the circumstances of this fight. From the get go, everyone knew Floyd was too big. The weigh-in fiasco only amplified it.

The win did nothing for Floyd, but give him annother easy pay day and false hopes in negotiations...

Corrales was drained as ****. He weighed in 132 at first and then had to hit the sauna for more than an hour to make weight. He was going to move up to 135lbs to fight Castillo in Febuary and then Floyd after that. Finally HBO and Arum had Corrales fight Floyd before because they knew Corrales was gonna go to jail. Floyd was quoted saying "If me and Diego Corrales (fight), it's going to be at junior lightweight, because that's my weight."

All these facts are verifiable. Google it.

When a guy weighs in at 132 at the weigh-in and then has to hit the sauna to lose the extra pounds, you're gonna tell me he's not drained? Floyd chose to fork over 600K rather than lose those 2 extra pounds against Marquez.

Just cause Corrales was able to fight at 130 later on in his career without being drained, doesn't mean he wan't drained on that night. It just means he was better conditioned later on in his career than he was when he fought Floyd.

Floyd caught Corrales drained, in a rift with his manager, and about to go to jail, yet barely anyone mentions it.

its a double standard. Put Pac in there instead of Floyd and everyone would be saying that Corrales was a weight-drained skeleton with personal problems.

It is not uprecendented for a fighter to have to hit the sauna before a fight to make weight. Corrales probably wasnt training correctly. A weight drained skeleton doesnt KO angel Manfredy then 2 years later reign again at 130lbs. There is no evidence that Corrale couldnt make weight. The only logical conclusion is he didnt train properly. Pac fought an Oscar that hadnt made 147lbs in a decade, and needed IV's in his arms. Totally different situation.
Barely anyone mentions it because Floyd knocked Corrales down 5 times, giving the feel if Corrales had been at the sharpest point in his career, the fight still would have been won by Floyd and Corrales would go on to reign at 130 2 years later. A weight drained fighter doesnt dominate a weight division 2 years later. Sorry doesnt happen.

You're comparing Pac fighting a 147lb Oscar who hadnt fought there in a decade and was in the twilight of his carreer, to Floyd fighting a prime Corrales who was dominating the division and would go on to be THE champ there 2 years later?

    Wow.

It doesnt enhance his legacy at all, but its a hell of a performance after the time he had off.

No. The match isn't legacy material in itself. The weight cheating makes it even worse.

It didn't hurt his legacy, because a win is a win. I always find it funny that people bring up the weight like it would have changed the outcome of the fight. It wouldn't have, because Marquez might have landed 1 solid punch the entire fight. Mayweather wasn't walking through shots.

Yup at least he was honest enough to admit FMJ is the level of these guys. Thus the ATG status and the level of expectation set on him is unreasonable and unfair.

Yes it did, why not?, it was a good fight where Mayweather confirmed he can still perform the way he always did against a tough opponent and #2 P4P.

If you want to expose idiots open another thread asking "Did Trinidad's win over Mayorga enhance his legacy?" or "Did Pacquiao's win over Larios enhance his legacy?" and see how people will flood "YES". Both Mayorga and Larios moved up two weight divisions to make those fights.
