Thats what I'm thinking. I hope so because Berto will be so overrated. Shane might not be that sharp.....but if he has ANYTHING left he'll hammer Berto, who doesn't seem durable
Believe me i promise you they will, you just havent been around long enough to know that. Youd be surprise at how high fighters stock has gone up just the last 20 years. Good example is Pernell he was recognized as a Pfp guy in his time but nowhere near as idolized as he is now, in fact many people thought he was Very boring even the Ring and other established Magazines were in agreement. Another thing i never said id have Mosley over Gavilan i think Gavilan is around 25-30.
mosley may have beaten margarito but was life and death with an average mayorga... berto has a nice jab that and he has learn his lesson from the collazo fight.
Was just using him as an example. Stop talking down to me, I may be young but am part of MENSA, no ******.
Berto may pull it off...I just dont know, Shane is proven elite and Dre is yet to earn this distinction. It can be hard to make that leap of faith with young fighters sometimes. Completely different fight to Margs..no way its a cakewalk like that even if Dre doesnt even make it as long. He will give Shane something to think about from the first bell I reckon.
:good Good post and i do agree that with all the titles around today, it is not the same as winning one in the old days. I also believe fighters put there time into the game more, in fact there are a few things that the old timers got over the new generation.. However Elite fighters like May,Oscar,Jones.,Mosley,Pac would have done well with any of the old timers especially the pre 30s fighters. Boxing has evolved in the sense of training methods athleticism and just learning off fighters from the past. Although i do acknowledge that the old timers had a lot of tricks and subtle moves that fighters from the present dont do,but thats on the B C level all the elite fighters from know would do very well back then. Thats why they call Hopkins and Toney throwbacks. The reason why is they have put lot of time in like the old timers did. Back to shane though i do think his titles in the divisions he fought in are real titles. He beat the best JM and best Welter, and although Holiday might not have been the best lightweight at the time Mosley ended up being the true champ and the best lightweight.
that he needs to pace himself and used his speed to save his energy in later rounds. berto has heart as evidenced by round 12 in the collazo fight. He is also lucky he got his second wind
If you did you would no what inuendo means look it up! Its nothing sexual about it unless you but the word sexual in front of it . Definition of inuendo: An indirect intimation about a person or thing, esp. of a disparaging insuation.
Only way Berto wins is if Shane's fight with Margarito was his last hurrah and time has passed him up. I do agree he didnt look all that against Mayorga and Although the fight with Cotto was tight he looked like he lost a step in that fight too. However if the same Shane that fought Margarito shows up he will ko Berto in 6.
You KNOW what context I was referring to. Probably why it confused me :good I WILL tak about you in a disparaging way anyway....because you often say things I don't agree with. EDIT: Cant be arsed to make enemies
