He was the more talented guy, simple. Since size is the supposedly the culprit here, I deeply doubt the result would have been any better for Marquez at 130. It would have been much more of a schooling and would perhaps end with Marquez on his back.
MArquez looked just as fast against Floyd as he did against Diaz. Name one fighter that was able to land the number of flush shots that Marquez did on Floyd?

No he doesnt JMM ring weight for Diaz was 138, and thas was because he isnt even a natural lightweight. Floyds last fight before this was also a smaller fighter Ricky Hatton, who had to gain 7lbs.
Marquez is a range fighter. He works best behind his jab, where he can control distance and use his excellent timing to catch guys on the way in, or get off first with short bursts of punches. Against Floyd he fought a bigger, faster, stronger man, with advantages in age, reach and size, so he had to fight in a style that was impossible for him to utilise effectively. It was a mismatch from the minute it was announced and Floyd deserves no credit for it whatsoever.
Hatton didnt gain any weight for Floyd...he just didnt dehydrate himself as much before the fight. Hatton to lose less weight to fight Floyd than he typically does...
Both skill and size played a part in it. This fight would have been better had it taken place at 135 but i still think PBF would have won.
