I wouldn't be surprised if this 14 day proposal is new, something Floyd needs to put out quickly. He's just getting emasculated through the media.

    Dear Manny,

You and Arum tried to jump start the PR battle by breaking the gag order established during mediation and placing the entire blame on Mayweather for the fight falling apart. For a while, you succeeded as most fans, myself included, though that if GBP and Haymon agreed to a contract, Floyd should have as well.

After the office of the mediator released the statement advising that you and Arum were full of ****, I started to doubt your side of the story.

Now Floyd has released a statement and completely turned everyone against you. He even called you a punk ass. Are you, a grown man and idol to millions, going to let another grown man call you a punk ass? Do something about it.

If you have any balls whatsoever, speak up and agree to the terms of the contract, including the very fair 14 day cutoff.

    Sincerely,
    Fred

I somewhat see your point that we should wait to see what Arum's and co response is. They might affirm or deny Mayweather's claim.

In any case, you know that this fiasco has gripped the boxing community by it's throat. That's why we go to forums like esb and express our opinions on the 1% of facts that we do know about the negotiations.

Mayweather's team has said "a reasonable cut-off date" (whatever that means) for awhile, now we're hearing an exact date.

Anyway, I don't know why people take any of these people's words as gospel. Arum, the Mayweathers, the execs at GBP. Yeah, real objective and honest sources.

Anyway, all this discussion might be mute.

TopRank facebook page claims that Pac Clottey is on for March 13.

14 days is the perfect compromise, it is about half of what each guy initially wanted(Pacquiao wanted 30 days, Mayweather wanted 24 hours). If Pacquiao turned this down, then he didn't want the fight and was looking for a way out.

As a huge Pac fan, if this is indeed true, I would be very disappointed in Pac. For a guy who claims to fight for his fans, this fight desperately needs to be done.
