Got to say i'm with Floyd on this one. Roach said he would take a 5 day window didn't he? This build up is all full of ****. I'm praying it happens.

How can Pacquiao refuse to be tested no longer than 30 days before the fight when he had a blood test for a medical 24 days before the Hatton fight.
Agreeing to a £10 million weight penalty, I would call that bending over backwards.
Do you think Pacquiao is turning down $40 million just because he doesnt want a blood test 14 days before the fight?

The only way Mayweather’s drug testing request would ever have been reasonable would be if Manny had been caught before.

If Floyd was fighting Mosley, then he’d have every right to request the screening due to Mosley’s admission of juicing unknowingly – believe him or not.

So, Floyd isn’t making a concession with a 14 day window, he’s still making a demand. Manny accepted the blood testing on his own terms within 24 days, because he is being defamed by the suggestion he is a drug cheat when there is not a shred of evidence to support that assertion. No surprise that Floyd moved the goal posts again.

This is what Floyd has done since the Castillo rematch. With the exception of the De La Hoya fight where he gave up a lot to sign the fight, he will not fight any guy he does not hold significant advantages over physically, stylistically or financially.

Manny is undoubtedly asking for things, this is a negotiation after all, but asking for reasonable penalty clauses for not making weight is vastly different from asking for unprecedented and unjustified drug testing.

Neither side is innocent here, but Floyd’s side is the one who caused the entire reason for the negotiation’s failure.

14 days seems more than fair.

    Why?

The whole thing is complete bull**** - it's an unreasonable demand in its context.

What contract has floyd actually signed, a statement of intent? or a contract with GBP to handle the fight? as you know there are many contracts to sign before a final ccompleated draft is drawn up for all party's to agree too. No one knows what floyd has signed.

I didn't know actually...- either way there seems a bit more to this mess then heaping all the blame on Floyd.. This fight is surely more important and financially beneficial then any other one of his contests- really don't understand why he would avoid the fight... If he loses, he's lost to the best in the world, if he wins he's sealed his legacy as one of the greats.

If he avoids this fight, regardless of his previous results he will always be known as a ducker like our Joe.

The drug thing seems a bit odd. From a neutral perspective (i'm a fan of both) I can't see why its an issue. Its just a term of the contract. Regardless of wether its a new idea or hurdle- if Pac has nothing to hide he would be better served just undergoing the test and proving his superiority in the ring.

That said, if Pac loses the fight- comes clean on the drugtest, people are still going to question his credability. He needs to come clean and win to resolve this mess. Clever work by mayweather- pressures on for Pac.

    This fight must happen.

Floyd is already known as a ducker, avoiding the biggest challenges in the last four years while complaining he gets no respect. It's clear that every time a deal has gotten close, Floyd finds a new stipulation. His press release saying he wants to "whip" Manny's "punck ass" is just passive-aggressive, hide-behind-contract bull****. The sort he's known for.

Manny, alternatively, despite his catchweight silliness, has consitently fought good opposition. His resume is better than Floyd's and his recent results far better. Floyd's not fought anyone as good as Cotto since... what Castillo? And Castillo gave him hell the first time.

I think there's blame on both sides, but the simple fact is that the hang-up to proceedings is something Floyd and team instigated without any justification, suggesting that Manny is using PEDs.

Even if Pac does the tests, he's in a lose lose. Floyd's groupies will claim the testing window allowed Pac to cover up his drug abuse and that the victory is tainted. If he loses, then he'll either have said of him "rubbish without the juice" or "Floyd wins even with the juiced up Filipino in the other corner".

It wasn't clever, it was slanderous. There's no evidence whatsoever about juicing from Manny, so Floyd has no right to demand tests.

It's pretty simple math: without the testing issue, the fight would be made. Because of the testing issue, it isn't. Floyd instigated the testing. Vis-a-vis, it's his fault.

Why should Manny be flexible to unneccesary demands?

It just sounds like a get out clause from day one. The testing is a nothing issue compared to the 50-50 split, the site or the weight, so why the **** will Floyd not just let it go and sign the fight?

You make a good point buddy... However they've got this £10 million over the weight thingy, so why not meet floyds demands? Declining the fight out of principle is silly.

Manny should say 'Do the test'. And proceed to smash him in the ring like he has done everyone else.... If he can.

Believe it or not i was a big fan of floyds up to this disgraceful attempt to blacken an innocent man's name in this manner, I did have 3 signed fight posters of his on my office wall, DLH (Dual Signed, Hatton (Dual Signed) & Hernandez HBO signed by floyd + signed glove. I can't in honesty have these on parade anymore.

Tere is a bgger game afoot here regarding Floyds longevity in the ring, as long as he keeps his (0) & hangs around like a vulture he'll always pick up pay days by doing the long route. Floyd for many obvious reasons will not commit to any 75/25 risky fight that will imperil his earning capacity as he knows once beaten HBO will drop him & it's the end.

Bt with Hatton promotions being in effect the euro arm of GBP there'll always be opportunities over here as in the re-match with ricky who has been dropping this hint for a while now has'nt he. Matthew's name just did'nt appear out of thin air, it's been worked on for a while now & by Pac beating Cotto has thrown a spanner in the works.

We've all heard Floyd say it's an easy nights work against a one dimensional fighter & it proberbly will be!!! There is absolutly no precident for Pacman to agree to this outrageous demands from mayweather, Nevada & the WBO set the rules & i'am now convinced that Floyd actually see's this fight as one real big risk against a real live dedicated opponant who passed the test in being able to take a WW punch.

Floyd knows he can't hurt pac or out speed him so IMO he's spooked & has set out to blacken Pac's name so as to get an out from this fight.

Floyd will wait to see how Mosley gets on & to see if he's now really starting to slow down, then he'll callmosley out, Mayweather got his break into the HBO trough thanks too DLH & he ai'nt going to leave it early. He'll pick up $5/$10 million here & there as long as he remains unbeaten & that will always be the case as long as he can avoid danger. Remember he bugged out of the DLH re-match, turned down $8 million for Margo, would'nt fight Cotto as it's another arum fighter.

We all want the fight & lets not forget that Pac's only a little feller who was down at Super/feather 2 years ago, Floyd retired before WHY???? he let cotto/margo/mosley fight it out & wreck each other, com'on enough is enough, this is the 1st time in mayweather's life that he has become the HUNTED & not the hunter, sad but true & sad for boxing if Floyd persits with these antics + there going to get raped $$$$$ in court for slander:smoke

Com'on now, pac's only a little feller, Mayweather has all the advantages & after the Marquez weight fiasco you can't take Floyd at his word anymore, Floyd's the much bigger man & originally Floyd did'nt want to fight for the WBO 147 title but little pac & the public said why not?

What on earth has mayweather got to be worried about accept the demons of self doubt that are obviously well entrenched in his own head:smoke
