Why would anyone be shocked by any athlete being on PEDs in this day and age?

    Whether it be Pacquiao, Mayweather, an NFL star, cyclist, track star, etc...People acting like there's NO way so and so is on something.

    "Oh my god, what a shock, an athlete at the highest level of the sport takes something to recover quicker from workouts to train harder and improve performance!!! What a shock!!!"

    :roll::lol:

    I'm more curious about what is legal right now, that is just as effective and they are all taking.

    No, but that doesn't mean you should treat people like they are. I think that's the main key.

    I wouldn't be surprised if it came up in a test or something, but the fact that it came up because of what the Mayweathers were saying is stupid.

    With all athletes that haven't been caught or linked to anything, my opinion is "who knows really?"

    My favorite "argument" is "he doesn't look like a cheater". What does a cheater "look like"?? :lol:

    Pantera2000 indicated in a PM that it really isn't that hard for athletes to get stuff now days. Let me make this clear. This was a general topic discussion and at no time did he implicate ANY athlete and I wasn't fishing for him to do so. Just kind of a matter of fact state of the business type comment in regards to something I asked because I am totally and blissfully ignorant on the topic. It wouldn't surprise me to find out Pac was taking something. It wouldn't surprise me to find out Mayweather wanted testing changed because it was hiding something HE is doing. Sad, but true. This is a sport because of its nature needs to be extremely harsh on cheaters.

    I'm not shocked @ anything anymore when it comes to sports but damn it, I wish people would come out w/ solid proof immediately when it comes to accusing somebody of doing something illegally.

    ****, we have someone accusing Freddy Roach of lying on ESPN tonight because he blinked and looked away. First time poster, probably an alt account, yet people wanting to support their point of view are ready to jump on this piece of shits bandwagon and accuse Freddy Roach of being a liar, siding with first time poster who claims he is an infallible human lie detector. :patsch This thing has spiraled so far into the gutter it isn't funny or amusing anymore.

    EVERY professional athlete is suspect as far as I'm concerned. Who would've thought James Toney was roided up had he not tested positive?

    I wouldn't be shocked.....Pacquiao knows this, and he could crush these "rumors" by just taking random blood testing.....Even if he loses the ****ing fight, he has got nothing else to prove....He clears his name, walks away with an extra 40 million, and a ATG legacy....What the **** is his problem?

    Look the problem with proving that people are doing the stuff is that you cant catch them. People need to understand that. Its a arms race between the makers and the catchers. Everytime the catchers catch up the makers shoot off again and leave them in the dust.

    Its what I have said all along, even if you do the best testing you can, it doesnt ensure that you will catch people using. Anyone that thinks that people like Marion Jones, Vargas, Chavez Jr got caught the first time is fooling themselves. And just think think about all the people that have later admitted to using stuff that never got caught at all.

    In a way its a losing battle, we're in an era were every record that gets broken is questioned, and the truth is you just cant prove that you never took anything.

    Some top athletes have to deal with a tremendous amount of pain. Then we wonder why they get caught with opiates?

    As long as there's so much money in it you better believe they'll keep coming up with new and better ways to cheat and get away with it, and the fact that the vast majority of sports aren't using the best testing protocols available leaves even more room for these guys to cheat.

    I stated in another thread the real problem with boxing testing is the sport is international, but these guys are independent contractors and you have places basically trying to lure the boxing dollars to their jurisdiction so you have a race to the bottom in terms of standards. Why scare off the money?
