A Time Mechine. I can acatuly put together all the Prime vs. Prime match ups we talk about. Also I would go back in time to bet on the real bouts as well.

It says a lot that the best thing that could happen (1 belt per division) is actually possible, unlike Lewis vs Ali, or Lewis vs Tyson in the 90s

I wonder if there is any way for the entire boxing community to change things?

I wouldn't go back to the original 8 weight classes, not at all. The world was full of in-between fighters then, and it would be again now. Take Ricky Hatton. Not the board's favourite, but he gave many of us some of the best nights of boxing in terms of event of the past decade - up until all hours with a house full of pals shouting at the tv.

None of that happens if he is trying to make a mark at 147.

There's nothing wrong with multiple weigh classes in my opinion, I probably wouldn't remove even ONE of them if i'm honest with you, I bet they've all supplied fights I loved that wouldn't have happened otherweise. I understand this idea of compressing talent pools to make more great fights but I think the number of top line fighters who would get chisled out through not having a weight division to which they genuinely belong is a reasonable counter-weight.

Even some of them at the bottom of the scale? I think it can be trimmed down, for the good of the sport. I'd definitely keep the top 5 or 6 divisions as they are though

In an ideal world it would be one title belt per division with mandatory defences alternating between the #1 contender followed by a handpicked opponent from the top 10 in that division OR a title-holder moving up or down in weight to take on the reigning champion in that division.

Absolutley at the bottom of the scale. There is even an argument for keeping mulitple title belts at the bottom of the scale.

Fights between the little men have always been a tough sell, both for television executives and for the general public...title fights are always an easier sell.

Besides, from Canto to Roman Gonzalez, there are little men who just aren't catered for by the original 8 weight classes, who deserve a bit more.

Your right Mcgrain, but do you think the fans could have an opportunity to one day to control our sport?

I think if the Mayweather, Pacquiao fight does not happen then the fans will speak. Im boycotting both fighters until they fight each other.
