Haye on Tua: "I can definitely see a showdown somewhere in the future"

Tua could beat all but Vlad, Vitali and Haye without much difficulty. He might chin Vlad too.

Tua has had one fight in God know's how long!

 

If he can get to Wlads chin then he certainly can get to Hayes chin.

Tua needs to fight a legitimate top 10 fighter, perhaps Arreola, Povetkin or someone of that ilk.

 

Doesn't make any sense in 2010. Tua is high risk and low reward. Even if Haye won which is doubtful people would say Tua has been inactive and only beat a club fighter.

 

Truth is Haye hasn't been that active either.

Since the start of high school when I had myself down as a badass rocker. About 9 years on and off but I've got playing again regularly.

Tua ?? I cant even believe we are even discussing this guy .. Take a look at 'The Formidable' David Tua in his prime against Lennox Lewis, he couldnt land a shot, he had no boxing fundamentals, he just looked for the left hook, he had nothing at the top level 10 years ago and hes got even less now, if Haye even looks at this fight he should be ashamed of himself .. Chris Arreola would be a far tougher test and hes ultra limited ..
I could never understand the hype involving Tua, people in the media and a certain section of fans always liked to compare him to Tyson but that comparison is ridiculous .. He lost against Ike Ibeabuchi who was another guy who could 'stand and fight' but had zero boxing and moving fundamentals, (i actually had Tua drawing that fight, he came strong in the later rounds for me) ..

How can you say Haye should avoid Tua ?? What has Tua ever done, ever acheived in boxing ?? Apart from being exposed as totally 1 dimensional ..

The whole Tua myth is based on 'That Left Hook', it doesnt compare to Frazier's .... He was a 'coulda been, shoulda been' kind of guy but the fact is, hes the equivalent of Sam Peter, a totally limited fighter .... I remember buying into the hype when he fought Lewis, i bought that PPV and i saw Tua totally embarrassed, not because Lewis was stellar but because that fight showed Tua had absolutely nothing in the way of boxing ability, Lewis jabbed the whole fight and defended the left hook with his right hand. It was one of Lewis's easiest fights, Lennox had a tougher time with Zeljko Mavrovic ....

Tua is only operating now because the Heavys are so weak, both Klits would have an easy night with him and Haye would have an easy night with him .... He was a C Level fighter then and he's a C Level fighter now .. Tua was a myth, fight fans in the '90s were sure that they'd found the next Frazier, the next Tyson .. But he was soon exposed ..

 

:yep:good I've been playing for just over 8 years myself. Now I've finally got some money coming in again, I'll be getting a brand spanking new Spider IV in the next few weeks:happy.

As for this thread, I hope people realise that they aren't talking about the Tua of the 90s and early 00s. Lets see him against a genuine opponent before we all start getting too excited. Tua's power is unquestionable, but let's keep things in perspective.

 

Why the Spider just out of interest? Maybe the IV series is better but IMO there is much better choices in the same class and price bracket.

I mean if you want that convenience of a modelling amp I'd rather have a Peavey Vypyr. My friend has the 30W version and it actually does a fairly decent impression of higher end rock amps keeping in mind I've got the real deal of the Rec that it models.

Vox VT series are the best modelling amps for anything up to but not including heavy metal IMHO. They just don't have enough gain for the really heavy stuff but short of that they are easily the most realistic and natural sounding.

 

TFFP, lets forget about boxing for a moment .. Who do you have as the greatest guitarist of all time .. Take out Hendrix, heres my top 5 ..

Your dreaming, Arreola would take Tua, Roy Jones could 'STILL' step up in a few months and beat Tua, Hopkins could step up and take Tua ..... Tua is shite, he'd still beat Chisora, Fury, Skelton, Sexton and all our domestic fat bums though ....

If you guys are pinning your hopes on Tua 'lighting up' the division, your gonna be disappointed, i'd put money on Sam Peter beating him and i think Peter is an awful fighter ..

 

I wouldn't have Jimi as my number 1 anyway. He's the best musician but on a pure technical level I don't think he's as good as Jimmy Page. I agree with that choice.

My other choices would probably be Clapton, Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Randy Rhoades in no particular order. I don't know much about the great jazz players so I'm probably doing them a disservice.
