Since when did Calzaghe fight guys TWO WEIGHT DIVISIONS BELOW HIM?

He fought prime lions such as Kessler, Lacy (at the time). Mayweather dodged his equivalent in the WW division (Cotto, Margharito, Clottey, Mosely)

Calazghe fought most decent fighters in his divison and was champ for ages - he did not blatantly duck anybody.

hopkins was a current atg displayed by the fact he defeated the middle weight champ directly after the calzaghe loss.

iam not saying hes the better fighter or anything but Joe's fight choices were based on legacy, floyds are based on what sells and money.

so the answer to the question is of course floyd is a ducking ***.

Both could have done a lot more risk wise, but overall id say calzaghes was more protected as floyd was fine till he hit WW

Beating Arthur Abraham ducking(amongst others) and obviously limited Kelly Pavlik while Pavlik was 8 pounds above his comfort zone does not an ATG make.In fact, that is the first time I have ever seen that, ever.Funny how Pavlik beats Taylor twice, while Taylor had beaten Hopkins twice and Hopkins was supposed to be an ATG still close to his prime.Actually, that is ridiculous. In reality,Calzaghe blatant lying while referring to Jones IN HIS OWN AUTOBIOGRAPHY destroyed any credibility Calzaghe ever hoped to have had before opening up his piehole.

PBF has become quite the Loser IMO, however to say he was more protected than Calslappy is a joke.

I voted for Calzaghe. No disrespect for the fighters in the UK but we all know that the better quality are in America. Floyd only became choosy with his opponents later on in his career.

smh at people listing clottey and berto as people that mayweather avoided....since when has he become protected? since he took some time off to let his body heal? all this ducking talk is nonsense it just shows how little people actually know about the sport, they just go to boxrec for info, they dont know who was actually relevant at the time, just who they are in 2009 (zab and corrales are perfect examples).

A lot of Floyd's b-level guys on his resume were better than most of the no hopers Calzaghe fought.

All in all its kinda close but Joe got this.

Whose career would you rather have up to this present moment?

Perfect time to make a pro-Calzaghe thread, when all the *******s in the forum hate Floyd Mayweather.

The real answer: Calzaghe's record is more protected, by a hundred thousand miles.

Although I hate to say it there really is no comparison, Mayweather may have dodged opponents during the latter stages of his career but he fought impressive opposition during his younger days which alot of newcomers seem unaware of. Calzaghe never fought someone he knew he couldnt beat apart from maybe Jeff Lacy who has since been exposed as ****.
