i think your missing a big part about the fighters pay...... the only reason they get payed is because they have a big fan base....they have a big fan base because they fight the best fighter. isn't it? and because we see them fight the best, we pay to watch them fight.... and thats how they get payed

When i payed to watch cotto/pac, i didnt do it because i followed either fighter, i wanted to see a good fight.

When i tune in to watch boxing, I want to see top level skills and people getting hit in the face. And I usually get that.

When a fight is really boring, I stop watching.

If a fighter has a really boring style, i dont watch his fights.

When you watch a fight live, you pay for the experience, the atmosphere of a big fight going down, and the fight itself. You know what the match up is, their is a suggested price. And if you think its worth it, then you pay for it! You know the risks.

If somone gets suckerd into following a fighter blindlessly then hes a ****ing sucker. Those people are the ones who give fighters this new "hollywood" type of superstardom. I wish we can have the old champs back :-(

They only owe us good fights if they expect us to pay money to watch them. If Floyd's happy with a couple of thousand people buying an obscure PPV, then more power to him. But I won't pay for him to fight a nobody, same as I won't pay for Pac-Clottey. I'd rather a Pac-Cotto rematch than that.

Why would it be OK for Pac to fight Mallignaggi and Bradley... Yet many on here would laugh if Floyd chose either of those guys?:huh

It's a fair exchange between fans and fighters, theirs no binding contract and either can walk away at either time.

I've been pretty negative about Pavlik and I think a lot of his fans thought I was a hater, but I do actually like him. I just look at the guys I'm in a same position as them to support, Hatton, Froch, and I see two totally different examples of fighter. I see two guys who want to pay the fans back and one who is happy to milk them.

    It's a shame, honestly.

Good post, I agree. Most "fans" have absolutely no idea what it takes to be even a journeyman professional boxer.

because many on here love pac and hate floyd but know deep down floyd is a far better fighter, who would dominate all THREE guys...and they are sick of watching floyd dominate everyone

It's a business, we're the customers. Give the customers what they want or they'll go somewhere else.
