Seventh round Salgado is doing a nice job of using the ring and his jab. Uchiyama can't cut off the ring and this is probably Salgado's best round.

I think Hosono is considered quite the prospect in Japan. Read on Graham Houstons site that he expected a tricky defense for Poonsawat.

Eighth round starts off with Salgado using the ring nicely, but he stops in a corner and Uchiyama hammers him with a right and a left. It doesn't really faze Salgado, but Uchiyama probably stole the round.

9th round starts off about the same with Salgado moving back nd Uchiyama stalking. The last twenty seconds though the fireworks start and they trade in the middle of the ring.

Tenth round, Salgado has a hell of a chin. He countinues to get hammered with power shots, but doesn't really faze him. No cuts on him as well.

Damn it! By the sounds of all this, looks like Salgado needs a KO/TKO to win...

11th round, 15 seconds left those right hands finally take a toll as Salgado showed a little rubbery legs after two straight overhand rights.

12th round, Uchiyama all out attack is wearing down Salgado. With a minute to go Uchiyama lands and continues to come forward Salgado has no breathing room and now falls to the canvas he gets up, but Uchiyama races over lands and that is it Salgado is out on his feet. TKO 12.

Uchiyama and Linares are both promoted by Teiken, but Linares was reportedly trying to leave Teiken for GBP, so I'd be surprised if they let him get another crack at that title. Plus, since Uchiyama is a native Japanese, he'd be more popular and marketable in Japan anyway.

Shows how **** Linares is that Salgado got battered by a 14-fight novice. Shame, was expecting Salgado to go on from there.

Just goes to show how protected and overrated Linares was.

Poonsewat vs Hasegawa would be AWESOME! Would rather see Nishioka vs Poonsewat first and the winner to fight Hozumi, who according to a Japanese boxing scribe may choose to go straight up to 126.
