hmm says . . . gotta keep in mind, so called PBF is fighting on the same date.... he can be fighting now to stay sharp until a potential PBF happens again or keeping his options open there in for Mosley/Berto results if a PBF doesn't go down again.... The real problem is that Pac knows he can't get lucky 3 times, and you couple that with the blood test demands, Pac is :scaredas:. And I'm sure Mosley wouldn't mind fighting in April if it means getting an opportunity at Pac, I'm sure a big win like that could help Pac in his campaign. NOW, don't take me wrong, the Clottey fight is a tad bit interesting, but not the best possible fight by any means. :bart
Arum already destroyed a 3rd of his draws by sacrificing him against Manny, now if Floyd embarrasses Manny who does Arum have left??? Pavlik - Still undecided whether he will be back int eh spotlight he was before Hopkins Margo - demolished by Shane and then exposed as a cheat by Nazim Cotto - Demolished by Margo and Pac, father just passed away, very skeptical whether he will be back on top ever again. Who else is there for Arum?
For sure, I will give Pac credit for beating Clottey, because Clottey is a top WW as you said. But I'd figure that at this stage in Pac's career, at the peak of his physical and mental prime, he would fight a more popular fighter with a better skill set, and a much more proven record. I don't get why Pac gets so many passes for fighting fading fighters.
I agree but both these guys are kind of scavenging for a March fight right now, Mosley and Berto probably can't make that date. Golden Boy won't let JMM fight him, I really think this is a good/risky fight for Pac given his options.

Yeah something smells fishy. Arum wanted out of that fight with Mayweather, and Manny didn't want his blood checked 3 weeks out from the fight. $40 million for 10 days of test free training camp.
Clottey has a great jab and his right uppercut is serious business,it rocked cotto and it had margarito stunned plenty of times.

What about looking at it the other way? Mayweather walking away from a ridiculous payday because he demands unprecedented testing requirements. Even if Manny is on something why not fight him anyways, he'd probably still be considered the favorite. This is how scared Floyd is of losing his mystique connected with his undefeated record.
True, clottey will not have an offensive explosion at any point in the fight, he never does. If he had done so against cotto he might have won. He will stay on defense and pacman will continue to pressure him, but overall it wont be very exciting and pacman will win in any easy decision. Who really wants to see this fight?:tired
All i know is pacquiao better not go toe to toe with clottey,because clottey is a very good counter-puncher and pacman leaves himself open when he fights toe to toe and even off the ropes clottey is dangerous.Clottey has waited a long time for this moment and i think we will see the best of him this fight.
In all fairness, I see your point. I'm TRYING not to be biased but the thing that I can't get passed is this: This isn't out of the ordinary. Yes the specific test IS, but the practice of these top fighters demanding ridiculous and unprecedented things are not. If Manny NEVER imposed demands in contracts then I would say, yes he is absolutely right in turning this fight down. But just last fight he made the WW Champion weigh in and defend his title at a catchweight....that is absurd! And it was agreed to. This fight I don't have the contract in front of me but I know he imposed an unprecedented $10 million pound penalty. Do you really think Mayweather or Cotto WANTED those things in the contract. No, of course not but they agreed to them because that is how the boxing world works now.
