Anyone remember that TV show from many years ago called "Kids say the darnest things" I think that we could make a sitcom by replacing the Kids with *******s.

There is no way in hell that HBO is going to promote 2 different PPV's on the same night against each other. Think about it. HBO is definitely not going to let Pac be broadcasted by a different network... I can assure you of that. Pac is their golden child right now. Floyd Mayweather CAN NOT light up the box office without a big time dance partner. Floyd's routine only works when he is fighting against a boxer that the public loves.

People love to watch Pac fight, and that's just the truth. Floyd is great, but watching him outbox a second tier fighter isn't something that people want to pay big bucks to watch. It's always fun watching Pac fight no matter who he is fighting. Especially a tough fighter like Clottey.

The only other option would be for HBO to do one of their tape delay double fight broadcasts with Pac and Mayweather on that night. I really don't see that happening either. They could try for some sort of two different locations, PPV extravaganza... where they have the fights lined up to start after one another. In that case... they would prob promote both fights heavily, and possibly do a 24/7 show following all of the fighters.

However, if it comes down to either airing Mayweather or Pac... they will air Pac. Which not only is a much more exciting fighter... looks to be a much better fight against a better opponent than Floyd will get. As well as the fact that it looks to be shaping up as an extremely good PPV card AND it is at the amazing venue of Cowboys Stadium. No way HBO passes up on that one.

HBO not going to "let" Pac fight on a different network? Well it wouldn't be a network fight, it would be a Top Rank PPV, they put on their own PPV shows all the time.

Pac isn't HBO's golden child. He's not contracted to fight on the network.

The other crap about a tape delay double broadcast just shows you really aren't familiar with the business of boxing.

How is Pac-Clottey shaping up to be an extremely good PPV? Josh Clottey is not a PPV caliber opponent to begin with. The undercard is unknown, Gomez-Castillo being whispered? That's brutal. The next time Arum makes a solid PPV undercard will be the first time.

And yea Floyd's PPV #'s stack up right along side with Pacman's. So throw out that other point of yours.

They'lll stuff that undercard with a bunch of hispanic fighters, being that texas has a huge hispani community. Margarito will reportedly be on the undercard and, like him or not, he'll get some mexicans to buy.

Pac sold 3,500 more tickets, had a bigger gate (by $2 million). and had more PPV buys when he fought Cotto than Floyd did when he fought Marquez. Which is amazing considering the fact that it was Floyd's comeback fight AND he was fighting a mexican in Marquez on Mexican independence weekend which even inflated his numbers considerably.

Also, for Pacs fight against Cotto... no tickets were sold under face value. Mayweather had to sell some tickets 50% off, as well as almost 900 of them were comps.

 

I hope both Pacquiao & Mayweather's next fights tank.

Maybe then they'll understand they need each other.

if it's really at 144 i will for sure not buy it.....even if it's at 147 i'm still not sure if I would. The only thing i am interested in is seeing what kind of atmosphere the cowboys stadium would provide for a boxing match. Dont think thats worth $50 though.
