Woah dont put words in my mouth. The Joppy vs Duran fight means nothing; and i wasnt even using his destrucution of Joppy as a statement. I was just pointing out that after that fight Trinidad was seen as almost invincible by alot of the boxing media and that as soon as he lost to Hopkins people started shouting about how he was 'exposed'

Yes, Trinidad had to fight going forward but he would also use his jab to set guys up. He wasn't a 'boxer' but he was still a very good fighter with alot of heart and very good power.

Agree. I have to give Tito the benefit of the doubt considering that he was a beast at 154 whereas Duran was off an on.

On the BS meter, I'd say the worst of those are Hearns and Benitez. Those two were simply built to shut Duran down, and used their natural size and style advantages to perfection.

He probably did take De Jesus lightly. When he didn't, he won. It's his own damned fault for letting his lifestyle get carried away post-Montreal.

Duran walked through flush hooks from Iran Barkley at 160 without blinking. He has more than enough chin to absorb the occasional left off of Tito, and grinds out either a decision or a late stoppage thanks to better footwork and defense.

A motivated Duran stops Tito late. The uninspired one loses a decision.

But no KO here , i shake my head when people pick certain fighters to ko duran. It happened with Hearns, but it wouldnt happen against anyone else near his fighting weight.

    Would be a best-seller imo.
The one with decent boxing skills and hight advantage. The other one with Manos de Piedra and a strong beard.
Duran had some awful losses around 154, while Tito was quite successful at that weight, although less experienced.
Nevertheless I’d say Tito by late round stoppage while Duran desperately trying to land hard bodypunches, leaving openings in his defense while proceeding. If Duran decided to cover up he’d still lose on points, not throwing enough to win a SD.

Trinidad sometimes does remind me a bit of Joe Louis. However, he can also look terrible at times. He seems to have little defence for the jab. Dela Hoya outboxed him pretty easily, as did Hopkins and Jones, though to be fair, they were a lot bigger than him.

I don't think i'd pick him over Duran in any weight class, but at 147/154, Trinidad is no easy night for any fighter.

Trinidad vs Mayorga, even if he was past his best. Maybe because i've re-watched it last week, though. :yep Very entertaining fight, but the Vargas fight probably was better.

The consensus agrees that Duran is the better overall fighter, an ATG and one of the top p4p of all time. The consensus also agrees that Tito has holes in his game. However, Tito is also an ATG, definently not on Duran's level and nowhere near the versatile skills Duran possessed. But, styles make fights and I think Tito may be just mobile and fresh enought at this weight to dictate range and keep Duran in his wheelhouse. Duran is not fresh at this weight, and needs either a slick stick and move or a tenacious inside attack to beat Tito. Tito is one of the best at keeping people in the mid-range, his wheelhouse and comfort zone. I think Duran has a mixed amount of success, but the Duran I have seen in this weight class is somewhat inconsistent. I think Duran boxes outside well at times, and grinds inside at times; but Tito keeps him at the mid-range for a slight majority of the time. The result is a split decision for Tito, like 7-5, a close decision. If they rematch the boxing genious Duran figures out how to stay out of mid-range and manipulate the distance better for an 8-4 clear win.

Im not Chris but I guess his best fight was against Vargas, so much excitement both undefeated action packed and lived up to the hype.

But his best performance was against Joppy. He didn't just beat him, he really beat him up. I mean it was pretty brutal.
