they are nearing sonny liston's greatness.. they would likely to dominate the HW division for 8 years. easily thrice longer than the reign of liston(borderline top 100) the Klits made american heavyweights a thing of the past

Its more a case of America not having near the talent it once did in the HW division. Sorry Chambers,Arreola are the worst top 2 US heavyweights since ive been watching boxing, and after that the talent goes down even further. In any other era they would be around the lower 10 top americans.

Be intresting to see them against the 90s crop and even the 80s crop who many people complained about. Id like to see them against a slick US heavey with good size. They dont even have to be great a Witherspoon,Prime Pinklon Thomas,Inshape Page Tubbs,Tucker,Douglas would be intresting not to mention a Bowe,Holyfield,Holmes level type of fighter.

A list considering only achievements, longevity, and skill set would be a phony list, with fighters like Calzaghe, Lopez, and Roy Jones Jr all being rated much higher than their resume would allow. The proper way to gauge the greatness of a fighter is to evaluate how well he did against fellow great fighters. Winning a belt is no longer the achievement it once was, and having a great skill set does not necessarily mean your an all time great. The old timers should be at the forefront in general, that's the way it should be, 'cus of how much work done they got in such a short period of time. Whitaker, and Leonard have all shown that it's not impossible to get recognition in today's climate of 50-60 career fights anyway.

American Heavyweights are responsible for their own downfall, and Liston would have reigned for much longer if he had to fight Chambers as opposed to Clay.

you do have liston in your top 100? if you would look only at resume and accomplishment, he may not make it to the top 100. Now, if you factor in overall ability, then his ranking would increase

I mean that the reign of the Klitschko's is emphasized because of one of two things. Either their American challengers go down without a fight, showing a lack of heart or mental fortitude. Or your Arreola and Chambers, talented American Heavyweights who seem to lack the capacity to dedicate themselves.

You dont think that Arreola showed heart in his fight with Vitali:huh He certainly didnt go down, and he did try. However i agree that in training he could do more, but he gives 110% in the ring.

As for Chambers well i think he has rededicated himself to Boxing,by evidence of his recent showings and coming in excellent shape.

One of two things. Either lack of heart or lack of dedication. Arreola falls in the latter bracket, whereas Thompson and Rahman barely even attempted to win.
