These guys in my opinion are all just one tier below the biggest punchers ever give me you listings on these guys Cooney Ruddock Lewis Bonecrusher Wlad Fraizer There are some other guys but these are the ones that came to mind. Put them in order and at the end im gonna do a point system and see how it came out.
Before I try doing this. I'm wondering what your top tier biggest punchers are. And where Morrison and Marciano end up.
In terms of just pure brute strength: Lewis Ruddock Wlad Cooney Bonecrusher Frazier ...The more I think about this, the more I want to jumble the order up completely. Just forget I said anything.
Morrison is about a couple guys down from here but he could hit thats for sure but a slight notch down from these guys. As for Marciano well PFP hes one of the greatest PFP punchers ever but i just dont think a 185lb Marciano hit as hard as these guys. Might sound like Boxing Sacrilige but im a realist.
Yes one punch and I think Cooney is being underrated so far, Foreman said he has never been hit harder.
Ok i forgot to answer your biggest puncher question:think Actually its pretty tough as far as order but id include guys (in no particular order) SHavers Foreman Tyson Liston Tua Louis,Marciano great punchers but i dont think they hit quite hard as the bigger hw of the modern era(altough close) Many other guys like Big Cat,Bowe who maybe should have been on that 2nd tier list. In fact Bowe is someone i should have included on the thread as i think he is about on these guys league
Yeah but Foreman was never hit by Lewis and Wlads righthand, which were and are huge. Emanuel Steward says Wlad hits harder than Lewis but I just go by what I see in fights.
I don't know. I wouldn't really argue if someone put Tyson and Louis in the same league as far as punching power. Call me crazy. I know Louis was significantly lighter than Tyson but I call him a harder p4p puncher and probably enough so to make it pretty even there. But as far as just brute strength is concerned, I'm not sure Tyson should really be with Liston, Foreman, Shavers and Tua.
Honestly, I can see how Wlad is faster than Lewis and his punches might land differently with the tick of extra speed...but I can't really see him punching harder than Lewis either. Lewis has more of a clubbing power to me.
I think youre right its a speed thing but its probably what Steward sees in the gym. Wlad is a bit faster than Lewis, but Lewis would commit more to the righthand when he threw it, which makes it more powerful.
As far as Tyson, he was most effective throwing his punches in combination. He may be the hardest hitting combination puncher of all time, but I agree his one punch power is not anywhere near the top of the list.
