I favor Ward, but in no way, shape, or form will it be an easy fight. Even when I pick against Froch (which I've done with Taylor and Dirrell, I felt Pascal was 50/50), I'm under no illusion that it's going to be easy. Froch doesn't just test you as a boxer; he tests you as a fighter. People always talk about Froch being exposed, but the bottom line is this: If you're not prepared either physically or mentally to fight him for 12 hard rounds, win or lose, he's going to be the one exposing that in you. People can get so wrapped up in "skill" sometimes that it's easy to sluff off fighters like that- but any victory over Froch is going to be well-earned and well-deserved.
I think that Froch is a vastly overrated puncher and that you can't hit what you can't catch. Froch had 12 rounds to land something on a fighter who stuck and moved and danced a bit too much, and he couldn't land anyting. Ward is not Pascal and he isn't Jermaine Taylor. He moves and punches and makes fighters miss. This is a nightmare matchup for Froch who will likely get floored once or twice and lose a loapsided decision. He simply does not possess elite skills and that fact will become painfully apparent when he meets a fighter who can punch and move and who has more sense than the recently retired Taylor.
What the hell are either of you gabbing about. Ward beat Miranda and Kessler. What has Dirrell got to do with anything?atsch
[He is also I think the physically strongest out of all the Super 6 fighters, in terms of sheer raw physical strength. You cant outmuscle him or push him backwards off you. I agree with most of what you say, but the quoted statement is highly questionable. For my money, Abraham is a much stronger and more physical fighter. Yes, Froch can muscle around a guy who's constantly runing, but will he do that against a guy who stands his ground?
Damn straight I disagree :bbb Dirrell didn't fight Kessler. Froch is garbage and lost to Dirrell by a distance. Anyone who scored that in favour of "the cobra" (cobra my arse) is a fool (imho)!!:bart
Which is why I am still disgusted by the decision to award Froch that bout. The "SuperSix" can kiss my ass... You can't give a decision to a fighter that couldn't land a punch against a guy who has landed punches in every round. Joke decision, joke tournament. :bbb
Andre Dirrell beat him fair and square. It wasn't well-earned (he never shipped a punch) but is was well deserved. Froch got a shocking decision, probably the worst decision I've seen live since Oscar De La Hoya "beat" Felix Sturm in the lead up to the whupping B-Hop gave him...:bbb
Ward will kick the **** out of the under skilled Froch. If he was able to make Kessler whos only other loss came to Joe Calzaghe look like an amateur that didn't belong, imagine what he is going to do to the less skilled Froch?
The real question, that you guys failed to address, is this: Which is more effective, Ward's head butt, or Froch's body slam? Either way, this fight would not be pretty.
