Are MMA fighters allow to choose who they fight?

    Or does the organization decides that? I hope fighters can't choose who they face in MMA, I don't want it to be like boxing where cherry picking or ducking becomes a norm. It would hurt the sport.

    Boxers don't get to decide who they fight. :?

    Maybe a few men in the entire sport have that kind of pull, you can count them on one hand.

    No fighters should have that kind of pull. It should just be decided by the organization.

    not really, no, usually the org decides who they fight, unless it is a training partner who they refuse to fight the org usually gives them the benefit of the doubt, e.g. anderson vs machida

    It should be a collaboration. In the case of a champion the org should have almost all the say, but in other cases there should be some fighter involvement, and there usually is.
