Aldo TKO. I think Faber will try and stand with him like he did with Brown and like he does most of the time. But Aldo is too skilled and powerful standing for him and Faber gets knocked out. If Faber decides to go to ground with this it could get interesting. But he also has to get him there first which is no easy task.
Faber seems way too sloppy and wreckless on his feet. Look at how he jumps in without even jabbing or feinting first. An elite striker like Aldo is gonna make him pay.
No, he has a history of being wreckless with his striking, unorthodox is good but it can also get you in trouble. You couldn't have possibly have missed his first fight with Brown, you know the leaping spinning elbow into a clean right hand :blood I honestly thought he would smarten up, but watching him sunday night I realized he hasn't :deal
He does try some crazy stuff, but it's usually a calculated risk when he feels confident more so than desperation. It can and has gotten him in trouble, but slow and steady won't get it done against Aldo. His best chance honestly is to pull out all the stops and try to throw every trick in the book at Jose. A gamble, but a lucrative one.
I have to agree here. Faber needs to keep his striking absolutely tight and technical, as well as using it only as much as he needs to. On the ground though, I think he has a real advantage. If Aldo outgrapples Faber, I would be very impressed.
For all we know that's the strongest part of Aldo's game (scary, scary thought...). His BJJ is highly spoken of.
Im so curious to see Aldo's BJJ game he is a 23 year old BJJ Blackbelt to me thats impressive imagine what its like when he really peaks. Ive just never seen it though havent seen any grappling matches and his fights are standup. Aldo's only loss was a RNC loss when he was like 19 to fellow Blackbelt Luciano Azevedo so that loss really dont count much at this point.
Have you seen anything with Aldo on the ground ? If so do you believe he is on the level of Assuncao or Jeff Curran both Blackbelts of whom Urijah choked out. I cant imagine hes as good as Bibiano Fernendez and he couldnt control Urijah's GNP.
Right but there's multiple factors to consider here - athletically, Aldo is a physical specimen unlike any of those elite fellows you mentioned. Even if his game isn't quiet as fine-tuned as those other, more proven black belts, the athleticism and his natural strength and flexibility may make up for it.
This is supposedly confirmed as the next date for both; probably at WEC 48 (which may be a PPV). With an undercard that's even on par with previous WEC events, this is worthier than most UFC and boxing telecasts at any pricepoint. :good
