I started a thread a while back speculating if JT fought on if it would be against medical advice. I doubt this was from the fans. The general ticket/ppv buying public have NO idea what is happening between fights. Hell, they don't know what is happening DURING fights for that matter. I have no idea why you think the 'fans' influenced this.

I'm glad he's out. He's being getting KTFO quite often and its time for him to go. I pat myself on the back for my efforts as a fan as you say its our faults.:good

I will always have the utmost respect for Jermain Taylor. He is one of my all-time favourite fighters not necessarily for the style in which he fought, but the style in which he conducted himself. Always gracious, Taylor fought the top fighters time and time again. Whatever decision he makes with regard to his boxing career, I support him.

Froch should get the points that he would of won by fighting Taylor again.

It is not fair adding a fresh opponent into in a tournament of tired fighters.

Terrible idea. That makes no sense whatsoever. It's simply the nature of staging a tournament, particularly in something like professional boxing where it's not all held over the course of a weekend. The fact is that conditions are going to change over time in a tournament of this nature and the best they can do is sub another fighter in.

I think the decision has to do with the after effects of the AA fight. Concussion, loss of memory, spending a couple of days in the hospital. No Shame in wanting or being presurred to leave the tournament. I read some comments of Ward being a light puncher. I remember the general consesus of Yuri Foreman on this website, light handed, feather fisted and boring. I dont know if everyone feels the same after the santos fight. I think the same CAN happen to JT, Ward knowing he will be fighting someone who was brutally knocked out in his previous fight. I think it is the right decision and I will support Jermaine Taylor with his decisions. I honestly think he has nothing to fight for and should retire.

Froch wasn't scheduled to fight Taylor.

And how will it be a 'fresh' opponent when they will have fought more recently than any of the others?
