By Nate Campbell There's been some reports in the media that me fighting Floyd is a done deal. That is just not true. The truth is that the only cat who knows who Floyd is gonna fight next is Floyd himself. I do know that my name is being considered, as it should be. I mean, who else between 140 and 147 can bring the kind of fight that I can? I have solid HBO ratings for all my HBO fights over the last few years, and I have the style that can beat Floyd. And besides, everybody dont know this, but Floyd DID turn down a fight with me several years ago. He called it "slave wages" or something. So theres some unfinished business between us, and now's as good a time as any to straighten it. Look, everyone knew that Pac's people didnt want none of Floyd. They can talk all the sh** they want, but they dont fight guys like him, or me for that matter. Only way you get a Pac fight these days is if you have no movement and stand there in front of him like a dead man. If you can box and move a little bit, you can forget it. You ain't getting the fight. But it is what it is. I mean, who leaves $40 million on the ground instead of taking a few tests? Cmon brother. I'm just saying. But if Floyd decides he wants to fight me, we can do this. When Bradley wouldn't rematch me I figured I was gonna have to move to 147 anyways to get a decent fight, so the weight ain't no thing for me. And there's been alot of talk about blood testing. I did have Team Diaz make bullsh** steroid allegations against me after I beat Juan Diaz ass from ding to dong and took his "0", so I have no problem taking whatever tests Floyd would want me to take. I know I match up pretty good against him, and I aint fixing to blow an opportunity like this over some tests. Like I told my man Terry, they can even pluck hairs from my sack in between rounds for all I care. I ain't got nothin to hide. But I gotta make it clear Rick, aint nothing been signed, or even seriously discussed about this fight being made. I ain't talked to Oscar, Richard, or Eric about it. But I'm easy to deal with. If Floyd wants it, we can get it done in one phone call. It's up to him."
Jesus Christ man. This fight is almost as bad as a Malinaggi fight. The only drama in it is that Campell might land a hail mary punch which is unlikely. I hear of a lot of Floyd fans saying he's dead to them. And rightfully so.
Not that the majority of Pac fans like any other fighters but Pac, but they certainly won't like Nate after these comments.
I like Campbell, i really do, and i agree with most of what he says, but hes probably the last guy out of everyone ive heard put forth, BESIDES Hattons little brother, that Mayweather should fight. IMO
This would be a terrible fight and all too predictable for Mayweather. He needs to fight Bradley or really shock us and call out Paul Williams.
This is as bad as fighting Mathew Hatton, hope it's not true. A Malignaggi fight, even though is also a joke for Mayweather, would be better. As previously stated, Pacquiao has many options he could pick from freely, Mayweather obviously doesn't with Berto/Mosley being booked to fight each other. Even if he waits for the winner of that one it will be months before they sign a fight.
Sorry Nate. Don't include your name there. You and Mayweather are worlds apart. You are not even slick.
What is wrong with Collazo or Cintron? Live dog at WW. Why are they even looking at guys not at the 147 range when he couldn't even make the weight for JMM?
why isnt floyd figthing or looking for a figth whit a welter and stop triying to get fight whit guys that are fighting at 135
my only question is why the **** would Campbell think he would get a rematch with Bradley?? Bradley dominated him, there was no doubt in anyones mind who one that fight..
