You don't have to stand up to welterweight power for a full 12 rounds if you can get the guy out of there in 10

Is that your prediction? Pacquiao knocks out Clottey? You realize a great many number of observers felt Cotto could have seen the final bell, yeah?

Clottey is better defended than Cotto and far more durable. Good luck with that.

It would have been closer on the cards and the general fan's eye but Pacquiao would have still out landed him and make him miss. Pac's speed was clearly bothering him from the start, first round Cotto took it and was showing some of his own speed but we all know that Cotto's speed doesn't remain the same as the fight goes, Pac's speed slightly reduces but you can hardly tell it's not the same especially with both tired late in fights. Pac would have won a UD.

  4. Whats your prediction?

ALso what were you predictions for:

    Pacquiao / DL
    Pacquiao / Hatton
    Pacquiao / Cotto
    ?

I seem to remember reading some of your posts before PAC/ Hatton and you were buying into the whole
    "Hatton will overpower him" angle.

So many people got it wrong the last 3 fights saying he would be too small. Hard to do it again.

BUT. Clottey IS bigger than Cotto, slightly.

Pacquiao will just hack him up with blistering speed and TKO him late, imo.

You expose your foolishness by making reference to Pacquiao's last three matches. No offense. Pacquiao is facing Clottey now. Whole new fighter. This is boxing, and it's a whole new fight. That's the entire basis of your post. How one dimensional. Thanks for sharing.

Agreed, well stated. Do you have Pacquiao over Clottey, S?

No need to answer that, Scar. I saw you picked Pacquiao by UD in another thread.

he was done after that second knock down...it hurt him, and he just looked beat from that point on

  9. No offense taken.

So what, past fights are'nt relevant? How exactly you figure that?

I dont really see any other way we weigh up the prospects of future fights other than looking at past ones..what's your special formula?

Also, you dodged my question. Let me guess, you were wrong about Pacquiao in his last 3 fights??

Fail and fail. I did not pick against Pacquiao in all three of those fights. You're talking about the wave Manny has been riding the last three matches like it's some sort of concrete formula that can be applied to the upcoming Clottey fight when it's painfully obvious to any objective, reasonably intelligent observer that De La Hoya was utterly geezered, Junior Welterweight Hatton fought horrifically and was KTFO in only two rounds, and Cotto started running at the midway point after his mediocre punch resistance betrayed him. WHAT DOES ANY OF THAT HAVE TO DO WITH JOSH CLOTTEY?? NOTHING? Yeah. You can go now. I'm not going to explain this again, simpleton.

Haha this guy is unbelievable. Not only is he dull but he is rude too for no reason. It is not difficult to see who is the simpleton.
    Funny thread.

Clottey has stopped one guy in his last 10 fights. And most of those ten fights were not against particularly good competition. His KO rate is lower than Mayweather's. Clottey has just about no chance of knocking out Pac. Cotto hit's harder and never had him in any trouble.

And unfortunately Clottey doesn't have a high enough workrate to win on points either. So he loses a decision in this fight.

I think Cotto was more likely to do damage than Clottey. Cotto has a better array of punches and probably punches harder despite the freakish size of Clottey. Clottey hasn't ever shown the type of power you would expect for a guy of his size.

Clottey will probably be there for a full 12 though (I know Cotto was...but was he?). That comes at the expense of the work-rate Cotto showed early. Cotto's work-rate early, attacking arsenal and power was more dangerous in my opinion than Clottey's consistent, slightly cumbersome and orthodox approach.

Cotto will just fight anyone..dude has too much pride for his own good. He never learned how to clinch. He gave all of us some ****ing exciting fights and I hope he goes out on top!
