Based on watching most of clottey's major fights is is easy to conclude that Clottey has no chance of a decision over pac. Also considering Clottey doesnt sit down on his punches very much and mostly throws arm punches he shouldnt be able to stop pac.

This is a very safe fight for Pac as Clottey just covers up and goes into his defensive shell. pac will outwork him handily seeing as Clottey isnt a very busy fighter.

To beat pac u need movement and be able to be a good counter puncher. Clottey really isnt either of these. Adding in his lackadaisical offense and arm punching you have an easy night for Pac.

You might see Clottey being stopped on accumulation for the first time. Or he will lose a wide UD. I think you guys who are thinking clottey will be a good match up for pac arent considering the styles here. Clottey is all perfect for pac.

Not a safe fight for Pac. Clottey is big, stong, tough as nails and Void would not come near him!

    well,

    1. He only has 20 KOs in 35 wins, and only 1 (TKO) in his last 10 fights.

    2. Floyd has nothing to do with Pac's success or lack of vs. Clottey

This is a very safe opponent for Pac at this point from a styles perspective. Clottey is exactly the type of opponent Pac can look good against. Again, dont be surprised to see Pac stop Clottey on accumulation. Clottey will last til late in the fight. He might even see rd 12 but lose a massive decision 9-3 10-2 type decision. but, i think pac will stop him on accumulation around rd 10.

Hello there, good morning, you just found out?

Clottey is inactive in the ring, he finds certain moments to throw and that's it and the reason is his stamina. He can give you hell for as long as he wants but don't expect insane activity like the type of activity the likes of Mayweather, Marquez, Hatton, Cotto and so on can bring.

Clottey is a quality opponent but what's dangerous here isn't the activity it's his illegal tactics. Pacquiao's team once again show major balls by taking this especially when we all know Clottey uses his head A LOT against EVERYONE he fights, HELL he used it against Baldomir till he got DQ'd and didn't complain much about his DQ either, I doubt more than three or four people here even saw that fight. The issue here is Pacquiao can sometimes get reckless, not always but sometimes leaving his self open as he charges in, Clottey might lack the punching speed to counter such fasts flashy powerful attacks but his head sure as **** will be trained ready to land on Pac and Pac has been cut before and badly cut as he got a little bit reckless against Morales in the first fight. Southpaw vs Orthodox brings headbutts whether you like them or not, you ought to expect DOOM when our orthodox fighter in this one uses his head intentionally as a third and sometimes his MAIN punch. PLEASE read this post and remember it fight night, people ignored similar posts by me and others before he fought Cotto and a lot of it turned out to be true, Clottey used his head there as well like he did vs Margarito and others. Hell he got Margarito YELLING at some point after these headbutts.

This is a good point and is very true. Clottey is a blatant cheater and uses his head as a weapon. Also the southpaw versus conventional stances ensure some butts. Barring this outcome my analysis still stands, however this is a real possibility.

    thanks for the post!

Good points, Rightcross. Pacquiao should definitely win this one. He is more likely to win if it goes the distance, if someone gets KO'd it probably won't be Pac, and if someone gets DQ'd it won't be Pac either.

Although Clottey is big for 147, he is only 5'8" which gives him a height advantage that Pac should be able to neutralize with his foot-speed.

    No, thank YOU for reading.

And let's not forget man, Clottey looked wider and bigger than Cotto and Cotto looked bigger than Pac so you get the idea, Pac will run into some serious head against someone bigger than him. If they fight on the inside Clottey has easily use his head as Pac twists and runs into them HARD, Clottey times that PERFECT, just watch how he did it endless times against Corrales, Margarito, Cotto and others. When Cotto switched southpaw the head hit him endless times and it looked like Clottey was prepared to position his self for them.

This is a dangerous fight for many reasons and Clottey has the size unless Pac can successfully keep him at bay and just circle around him landing, making him miss and moving to UD like he did with DLH. If he turns Clottey like he did with DLH Clottey might not land anything worth mentioning all night.

His head by itself barely makes junior welterweight.

Clottey is a safe fight? If that were true, Floyd would have fought him , not Paq.
Physically, this might turn out to be a rougher night for Manny than if he fought Mayweather. Clottey seemed to edge Cotto, and may have softened him up for Paq.
This Clottey is a strong rough Welterweight, and you don't see many guys lining up to fight him. I wouldn't be surprised to see an upset.
