No you get real, you're missing my point completely. He's just not that good, and he won't ever be. Any boxer who isn't willing to fight anyone I have little respect for. Maachi shouldn't be applauded for that, it is his job and his breadwinner. As soon as he steps up he will vanish.

But he knew if he won he would not get any more fights and he did not know what boxing was back then or how to train properly on his own.

The vast majority of boxers avoid fighters for a range of reasons so he should indeed be applauded for his attitude. There's no dick swinging going on here but as said above we just want to see somebody with an ounce of courage to put themselves on the line and fight him. We'll see whether he is up to much. Nobody is saying he's the best domestic fighter, just that he desreves a chance to show what level he's at

 Now I know you didn't watch that fight!!!

You (collectively-the opposition) don't know the full story behind him. Believe me all he needs is an opportunity. If he is given the opportunity and gets well beaten I will begrudgingly say that I am completely wrong, but the chap is a phenominal fighter.

Kevin Concepcion was unbeaten, Eamonn goodbrand unbeaten, both top class amateurs.

He makes mistakes, he's not perfect but I reckon he could beat all but the top boys at light middle- and even the top guys would know they've been in a fight.

He's bossed Anthony Small in sparring, he did very well with the then number one Jamie Moore when he went over to Olivers.... This is a 'club' level fighter who should be a journeyman.

I can't convince you by what I say on here, but given the chance El Maachi will upset a big name in 2010.

It's safe to say that when you lose four of your first eight fights your options for avoiding people are somewhat diminished.

Kevin Concepcion was ****. Seen him a few times and he was a built up nobody and not someone to judge a class fighter against.

Go on enlighten me, so your boy got robbed did he? What's the big story? I have spoke to Tommy about this fight and others around the camp and he won that fight simple as that but i suppose you being Maachi's biggest cheerleader thought he was robbed.

Tommy had not fought for 10 months and still dealt with your boy comfortably.

    :rofl

    Get real!

Yas record going into the fight was 3-3, Tommys was 30-1-2....Yas had boxed three times, 2 of those fights resulting in 'losses' in the last 4 years... The above video seems to provide conclusive evidence it was anything but comfortable... He didn't even bring any corner men with him...He was there for the money. :good

    But you know best.. :thumbsup

I havent seen nearly enough of him to judge. He certainly gets the hype around these parts.

But, I'm going to go out on a limb and do something not a lot of people seem to do any more, I'm going to wait until I've seen a boxer box more than a 4 minute clip on youtube before I decide if he's any good or not.

Come on mate, edited clips of a 18 minute fight condensed into 6 minutes I think you need to get real, I have read three reports of the fight and all three Mcdonagh won comfortably if not in great style, but when does Tommy look that great?
