The injuries were legit... Saw it first hand.. (no pun intended)
Kelly wants the Williams fight. He feels there is unfinished business. (obviously)
I spoke to Arum and they want this fight, first and foremost.
I'm sure PW isn't hiding, but it would be nice to see something from Goosen. If there has been, I haven't heard about it.

 

so was jermain taylor. jermain taylor was iced cold. sergio may very well be a better boxer but he too will get iced. same goes for paul williams.

paul williams is not hiding and he aint scared of kelly. this is a wind up thread by an alt account TS and ya'll bite on it every time.

but that doesnt change the fact that your ability to outbox kelly at 160 only amounts to so much when a heavy handed guy w/ an 86% ko ratio hits you square in the face. a jmw w/ a 50% ko ratio was able to stun and knock down paul. paul fought like the warrior he is and won the fight. paul was able to stun sergio and knock sergio down. sergio fought back like the warrior he is but fell just short. better boxers than kelly or not, they will both not get back up when kelly puts them down.

that is not a knock on either sergio or paul. they are both very skilled guys and they put on one helluva show. but both are there to be hit and both showed that in their fight. guys who are there to be hit get hit by kelly and get stopped by kelly. the only person this did not apply to is a guy who is not there to be hit.

If PW was a flat footed boxer who didnt move around the ring and his opponent(PW vs AM) then yea Kelly would probably beat him but to tell you the truth you guys fail to realize that Pavlik is still and always gonna be a straight foward fighter!!!!

Guys like to bring up the Quintana and Martinez fight as if they use that as a reference in what possibly Pavlik can do to Williams, but those to fighters are on the opposite end of the spectrum to Pavlik!!!

The closes person PW has fought that resembles Pavlik some what is Margarito( throws alot of punches even more that Pavlik and fights straight ahead)

The reason why Bhop was so successfull with the likes of Trinidad, Pavlik and Johnson(all good fighters) is because styles make fights and they are straight foward fighters!!!!

PW achilles heel is fighting slick southpaws and Kelly Pavliks achilles heel is fighting guys who move around alot(so Pavlik can't set his punches up)!!!!!!

His radio show co host is the one that told me to forget the overseas stuff Arum is throwing around when I was talking to him at the radio show they did live before the Espino fight. Personally, I think if they put up the money he should consider it. Broaden his horizons some. I'm sure ref and judges could be worked out. Not that they'll need the judges if they get the right ref.

 

since you bring up margarito, then obviously you have seen the fight. and i you have seen the fight then you know that paul hasnt corrected anything from that fight. he fights the same way. he showed this in his fight with sergio. his response to getting hit or stunned is to pour it on even more.

watch the margo fight very closely. watch rounds seven and eight in particular. margarito is landing to the body and every time he lands to the body paul backs off. then he starts landing the right hand upstairs with frequency. antonio margarito, the smaller man, is getting in range and landing on this slick fighter (ptp) with frequency.

paul has CORRECTED NOTHING from that fight. in that fight, paul is not using his height, not fighting tall, not using his reach, he is not staying out of the range of the smaller man and his jab had nothing on it. under no circumstance should margarito have been able to hit him like he was. nothing has changed. paul will still stand there and go to war regardless of his ability to move.

now compare that to kelly who is a bigger and better version of margarito. he will be bigger than paul and stronger than paul. if paul couldnt keep margarito off him and keep him from landing he will not stop kelly from landing. kelly will ice him cold. if i wasnt in california on a friend's computer i'd post the rounds from the margo fight i am talking about but this piece of **** computer won't allow it but i implore you to watch that fight. he has changed nothing. i can't believe how a guy his size and with his ability fights the way he does. with that height and that wingspan he should be laying people out cold and not get a glove laid on him in the process. kelly is what he is and uses what he's got to the fullest. paul does not. and for this reason ptp will lose badly to kelly.

 

Here comes Mr Hu -- still talking long PW is some all time great boxer. Paul is a very simple, straight forward, pressure fighter who throws the same focus mit combinations over and over, and above 147 his chin is supect at best. I'll tell ya one more time: Pavlik/Williams is a head on collision between an 18 wheeler and a mini-van. Pavlik stops PW in 3-5 rounds.

Sergio Martinez is a difficult opponent for any light-middle. Against Williams he was fighting a welterweight. Sergio hurt Paul on several occassions, but hurting Paul Williams, and hurting Kelly Pavlik are two completely different things. Sergio has a difficult style, but he is not difficult enough to keep Pavlik off of him for 12 rounds. The KO is pretty much a foregone conclusion. Sergio either stays on his bicycle, and loses or boring UD, or he tries to engage one to many times, and gets sparked; period.

 

i agree. that would be pretty neat to have a fight over there. all the ref would have to is be able to count to ten all kidding aside tho, would sturm really be willing to come over here? he justifiably has a bad taste in his mouth after the odlh fight. :think

J-Taylor that Kelly fought >>>> P Williams as a middleweight and can actually box and move quite a bit better than Williams. :roll: Williams is pretty much a high work-rate brawler. He's one dimensional.

 

If he is training with Freddy Roach I think he would have confidence in Freddy telling him whether or not the judges/ref was stacked against him and to protect him on that front. On the other, Freddy is pretty good at picking opponents for his guys... :think
