De La Hoya: Possibility of Mayweather vs. Cintron is great

Clottey might be a better fighter than Cintron but the gap isn't big at all, there at a similar level actually. Cintron has big power and that makes he and Mayweather interesting.

 

I agree... and would really like to see that fight. It's true that Cintron is much more vulnerable than Clottey though. Durability is a pretty huge deal.

 

Sounds good except Cinton is at welterweight and Floyd avoids welterweights like Malignaggi avoids having sex with women.

 

Well at least according to DLH Floyd wants to fight a top Welter...

 

That would put them at about even and make the PPV and gate numbers a proxy fight.

 

Styles make fights. Cintron was blown out by margo twice, got his ass whooped by Martinez yet somehow got a draw, barely outlasted a very green Angulo and has never really beaten a top welter himself.

Cotto did much better against Margarito, but was stupid in the later rounds, did the same thing with Mosley, but Mosley wasnt aggressive or effective enough. The Mosley fight was even debatable as to who the winner was. Mosley just had the power and right game plan to beat Margarito.

Cintron is an ok fight. Only because hes a natural welter, maybe even big for a welter and has a big punch. Other than that hes gonna be easily outpointed. This is certainly a step up for Floyd as far as size wise goes, but not as far as fighting a talented fighter without having any size advantages. Itll do as a hold over til his next fight, hopefully against the winner of Berto- Mosley and definitely a better option than Paulie or Campbell. I certainly wont praise him for it.

If he chose to get some balls and fight someone like a Paul Williams, that would be a completely different story.

Ill hold out final judgement until they say who he's ACTUALLY fighting.

 

Clottey is much better than Kermit...with that said Floyd should win an easy UD..good choice of opponent though

 

FINALLY! Cintrons a true legit welterweight whos also a power puncher,Floyd wont recieve no criticism at all from me if this fight happens...

Cause hes finally doing the 1 thing thats everybody has always wanted him to do and thats "fight a TRUE WELTERWEIGHT"

Not bad. Be nice to see Floyd with a good WW for once. Still, not as good as Pac vs. Clottey. Although after Cintron's showing vs. Martinez, still, would exoect Floyd to take someone of higher caliber to back all the **** he says about himself.
