Thats right I said it! Even with RJJ way way way past it and chinny as hell he just matches up style wise well with Bhop. Bhop has the style for RJJ. Low punch output, counter puncher, not that aggressive. RJj will still have the advantage in hand speed and power. In addition, to the style match ups RJJ will still hold a mental advantage over BHOP. This fight will go 12 rds and RJJ will win a close but clear decison after he wins the first 6 of 8 rds and the survives late to win a close decision. You can give me my accolades for the correct prediction post fight. Ya'll musta forgot!
i shake my head at the idea of roy gettin it on w/ a top p4p fighter...but i will be pulling for him. he's been my favorite fighter growin up as a kid. hell we went and watched him play semi pro basketball at the civic center near my house. seems like a lifetime ago. as much as i want him to win, im just hoping for a good showing. i do believe this is unncessary.
The fight is necessary for Bhop. The fans will always realize that in their primes RJJ is a much better fighter head to head. Bhop knows he outlasted RJJ in the ability to sustain a boxing career. RJJ would lose to a great number of people at this point. But, Bhop will lose this fight provided RJJ trains to a reasonable level. The psychological advantage and the style match up between these two is nothing to take lightly.
In this particular case the last fight wont have a bearing on the outcome of this fight. Bhop does not fight like Danny Green. Bhop is a counter puncher and does not swarm anyone. Look at the styles not the last fights.
stop just stop please its this kind of talk that gave Calzaghe's win over RJJ any kind of legitmacy, you all hope he wins, but we know damn well he wont.
rjj will never phone a fight in. he is a gym rat. doesnt drink, body is a temple kind of guy. he will always train his ass off. he will also give bhop all he can handle. like i said in another thread...this is actually a lose lose for bernard. he wins, **** he just beat a guy who was taken out in the 1st round of his last fight. he loses, and well... but yes i agree, this is necessary for bernard. the fight overall may be unncessary...but for bernard, it is
BHop seems strongly intent of kicking Roys ass. And I dont just mean, "he wants to beat him and prove he is the superior fighter", rather "Hopkins wants to beat him pillar to post and take 10 years off his life" Styles be damned, Hopkins is gonna whoop RJJ. Hopkins doesnt care about legacy or the money or any of that. He just wants to get Jones in the ring and unload on him. He is still raw over losing to him all those years ago
You gotta feel it in your bones Man! You know I am right. Here is some inspiration for you. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWIqZKhNY90[/ame]
Y'know I dodnt give Roy a hope in hell yesterday but I was thinking on it last night and the threadstarter has a point the way to beat Roy is too just go at him and he'll eventually leave his chin hanging out wiht those low hands of his and get popped, but Bhop doesnt go after guys , its not his way. I still expect Hopkins to win but I think he may have to fight in a way that he doesnt really want to.
