The train robber one is great; it is like an instructional video. I've seen the politician one before, but the first one is new to me.

    Nice job.

I think Judo should be employed more in MMA. Loads of guys are, like Karo but more should. It should and likely will become one of the core arts to learn. At present, it still isn't mentioned as much as it should be. The standing grappling is vital as well as the trips and throws that allow you to take it to the ground.

At present I think Boxing, Muay Thai, Judo, Wrestling and Jujitsu are the effective styles. Machida has shown Karate employed correctly can be effective. I think that might be more of having the right talent to employ it then a general art that everyone could and should know.

I'm interested to see which other arts can be successfully employed, even as a core style. For example Wing Chun doesn't seem to be employed by anyone. On the street versus an average Joe I think it is effective but against trained martial artists, I believe it is highly questionable.

    LMAO At the politician!!

It is true though, you never know just who is trained, in anything!! A friend of mine was one of the youngest (If not the youngest) 6/7th dan judoka, certainly in Europe if not the western world! He goes all over the world training special forces. He's a guy of about 50 now 5ft 9" and of medium build, and has a stammer!! He was a taxi driver for years and the number of big idiots who suffered at his hands for trying to take the **** is legendary!!

It is usually only trouble-makers, who are hell-bent on making trouble, that commit the cardinal sin of "Judging people by appearance" so I rather enjoy it when they "Cop a hiding".

Beebs, good video showing how much Judo is needed when grappling standing up. Fighters are humans and make mistakes. All you need is one guy slightly out of position and you can throw him over your hip. In fact if you are find your back to your opponent because you've made the mistake then you can turn it in your favour.

Here is a good video showing 67 Judo Throws of the Kodokan.
