IMO Floyd has to take this fight. It's a huge payday, it dwarfs Pacquiao v. Clottey, and it shows that he intends to fight the best. PW showed that he was susceptible to good counter punching in the Martinez fight, so I think that Floyd wins this one easily, but it would be highly entertaining.

Martinez Pavlik looks like it's gonna be done and that leaves PW without a dance partner (what else is new?).

The politics issue is nothing new in boxing, but if Floyd really pushes the matter, I can see it getting done.

    Agreed.

All this talk of Floyd picking off Williams is all good and everything, but Paul will make him work. He will put that stamina to the test. And eventually he WILL walk his ass down.

And Floyd damn sure don't have the crack to keep him off. If Paul can take bombs from Martinez all ****in night, I don't think Floyd will be able to wobble him...

Well he could argue he is looking out for William's needs if he believes Williams will lose that fight.

Perhaps he tells Williams: "You lose to Floyd, it could affect future earnings in your fights." Williams might be more receptive than you think.

However, Mayweather should jump at this opportunity. It would go a long way to restoring his reputation and would certainly look like a much larger risk than fighting Clottey if he was interested in showing up Pacquiao.

    I would pay for a Mayweather/Williams fight over a Pacquiao/Clottey fight, without a doubt.

But I think it's fair to say that a 160 lb. Martinez packs more of a punch than a Floyd counterpunch.

paul should be calling him out more in public and disgrace him, make him look like a little ***** by alistyling him to the point where he has to fight him.

I've been defending his power based on the Kermit Cintron remark. CHEF however has first hand knowledge of Cintron and says he lacks heart and is basically the whiner we have all come to know of late. According to CHEF if sparring got rough, Cintron would claim a hurt hand or whatever and take the rest of the day off. Says he has tons of talent, just no heart.

This would be the best fight for Floyd.....in terms of respect...but the Al haymon issue is a real one. If Floyd made this fight happen he'd get mad props.!!

Paul Williams would bust floyd up for 12 rounds. he might get outboxed but he will definitely throw some hammers at his torso.

I think this is the most logical step for Floyd to make if he wants to keep the March date, but I doubt Golden Boy wants to at this point. Just let Arum 'have' this one and regroup and not do something stupid out of spite.
