can somebody kindly explain what kind of illness he's having. i hope he gets better, IMO he's one of those guys who gives a big entertainment boost in MMA today.
Essentially pouchs formed in his intestine, probably large intestine and they became inflamed/infected. Odds are it sounds like he had some sort of bacteremia/septicemia. Due to a complication from the inflamed diverticula. Meaning essenially he had blood poisioning, which is a serious medical condtion.
How long will it be before he's striped of the belt? Assuming that he is out long enough for this to happen.
Reports I heard was he had some sort of flu (I think they said it might have been swine flu) and then he had a hole in his liver or something of that nature. He needed surgery to fix it or he could have possibly died, but he's taking I think 6 months to recover and then coming back.
