Will the SuperSix..

Super 6 is ok,its got some good fights made.I just wish it was not on that primetime thing.Boxing fans already have to pay too much as it is.I managed to watch Abraham on rtl for free but the Germans seemed to have zero intrest in showing Froch so it was pay up yet again or miss the fight.As for Taylor,i wish he had carried on.His confidence would have been low but i dont think he is shot.The Abraham loss was a bad one i dont dispute that but although he was not in front he was not losing badly and seemed to be coping ok up to the ko.Against Froch he was in front and only had to hear the bell.I think Taylor could have sprung a suprise if he had gone on.

And Taylor is no longer in it because he doesn't want to be. He actually had some incentive to stay in (how many times in the past has a fighter got a shot at a major title coming off two knockout defeats?!) But he decided he didn't want to and if a fighter doesn't want to get in the ring, probably best for him not to be there.

 

His over-eating between fights has been chronic in the past. Poor diet, slack training, lazy lifestyle.

He wasn't allowed to board a plane for a week after his loss to Abraham. That's a sign of compression and, for a boxer, pretty dangerous. Just because your nervous system can take a lot before it shuts down, doesn't mean it should be allowed to.

Taylor's had a good career, and barely anyone gave him a chance to win the Super Six. There's a reason that DiBella never put him in with any punchers after Hopkins (not exactly a one punch KO merchant himself, but damaging in accumulation). His three losses have come to guys with heavy hands who can wear him down.

Sure he might do better against Ward and Dirrell, but he could also get seriously hurt by Kessler and Froch (again).

I can't believe anyone could say this is a pathetic schedule.

Take Froch as an example, if he beats Kessler (i know a big "If", but indulge me) then between October 09 and September 10 he will have made 3 defences of the WBC....by today's standards that's good going.

Plus there will have been 3 WBA title fights in that time span as well.

The Super six set up will never satisfy everybody but it at least takes a lot of the bull**** out of the matchmaking process.

How many times will Bute (who should have been in this tournament) fight during the same time frame?
It won't be more than 3 and they won't be as good opponents as the guys in the Supersix

 

How many times are you going to post this bollocks? If you don't understand the format go and read up, don't insult our intelligence by claiming everybody is struggling to get to grips with it. It isn't difficult and we aren't - you are.

As for the time between bouts what the **** did you expect...Prizefighter? These are top world class fighters fighting for big money in significant bouts, it ain't a jolly up. They need the preperation/recovery time to do the tournament justice.

What the **** are you talking about? Did you even read what I wrote. You were the one who said Taylor has been 'forced out' of the tournament. Why are you asking me if there are some mystery rules that say you cannot continue after a knock out loss when I said Taylor was perfectly free to continue, that question would be for you?!
